I was told yesterday that Trump is a liberal Democrat.
My reply:
Build the wall.
Enforce the law.
Deport them all.
End sanctuary cities.
End anchor babies.
Slap a moratorium on muslim immigration.
Cut the taxes.
Cut the spending.
Cut the regulations.
Cut the government.
Cut the debt.
Cut the EPA.
Repeal ObamaCare.
Get the feds out and allow health insurance to be sold over state lines.
Send education back to states.
Get a handle on trade.
Make trade deals in our own best interests.
Bring back capital.
Bring back manufacturing.
Bring back jobs.
Strengthen the economy.
Defend the second amendment.
Defend religious freedom.
Appoint constitutional conservative judges.
Rebuild our military.
Bomb the shit out of ISIS (and take their oil).
End political correctness.
Take the GOP head-on.
Take the media head-on.
Take the liberals head-on.
And win, baby, win.
All of the above on a shoestring budget compared to most of the 16 competitors hes defeated (after they spent 100's of millions of donor bucks).
No PACs.
No big donors.
No party support.
Whats democrat about any of the above?
Whats not conservative?
Whats not to like?
And I’ll add a few more:
Redo the horrid Iran deal.
Take a serious look at NATO.
Require our allies to pay more for their defense.
Rebuild the Reagan Coalition and attract blue collar workers by making America first again on manufacturing, trade, secure borders, economy and jobs, jobs, jobs!
Make America Great Again!
I just love the smell of carnage in the GOP.
Hope I live long enough to see what arises from the elephant graveyard.
GLOBALISM or PATRIOTISM/NATIONALISM. I thought you'd already chosen your side, in which case you need to leave.
Very nice post Jim! :-)
I think we both were enamored of the man we thought Cruz was.
If that man had turned out to be real I would still have him as my #1 choice.
Perhaps Cruz simply was not ready emotionally to make a play for the big chair and it has made him a bit unsteady.
I’d still like to see a Trump/Cruz ticket but I guess that is hopeless now...politics makes for strange bedfellows...but perhaps that ticket is too strange.
I just hope that Trump gets the 1237 so he can win on the first ballot. If he is denied and the nomination goes to another, even if that other is totally worthy (i.e. Jeff Sessions) I fear many millions of Republicans, Democrats and Independents would stay home on election day and not vote. The damage would be really bad.. Hillary (who truly is a monster) the loss of the senate and house and a ruined SCOTUS :-(
Amen, brother!
I want to be sick of America winning!
Much better. Carry on.
Or Mormon, Jewish, Moderate, or Establishment. Depends on who he's talking to.
At this point, better they stay home than pick up a gun, which seems more and more likely.
>>You and your ilk are GLOBALISTS.
Your enemies here on FR and in the USA are the PATRIOTS.
Thank you for articulating this. It can’t be said often enough.
DJT attended military school many years ago when students were instilled with love of country. I believe this is where his patriotism was instilled. It is genuine.
GLOBALISM or PATRIOTISM/NATIONALISM. I thought you'd already chosen your side, in which case you need to leave.
Oh, are you calling the shots now, gg188?
Happily:
1. Cruz defeated the Bush administration at the Supreme Court on the question of executing illegal immigrant murderer Jose Medellin. The Bush administration argued that international law trumped us and Texas law. Cruz won.
2. Cruz won four other major supreme court cases including cases on religious liberty such as defending the public display of the Ten Commandments at the sate capitol in Texas.
3. Cruz passed a bill out of the senate and it was signed by President Obama — making it a law— that an Iranian ambassador involved in terrorism was barred from the United States. Almost no legislation has passed the senate since it was divided against President Obama.
4. In 2013, Ted Cruz single handedly shut down the Federal government. That action encouraged the general public to believe that one person can fight back. GOPE critics despised Cruz for doing this and the Media said it would destroy the GOP in 2014.
5. I think the work of Cruz in 2013 motivated the public to switch the Democratic Senate in 2014 over to the Republicans. This is a huge development. By this time, Cruz was a much more important part of the Senate than his senior moderate republican counterpart from Texas John Cornyn.
6. The switch of the Senate in 2014 is pivotal. Had Democrats retained control of the Senate, Eric Holder would now be the Supreme Court justice sitting in Scalia’s seat NOW. That would be an incomprehensible disaster. The fact that we may be able to stop a scalia appointment by Obama is only possible because the Senate fell to men like Cruz.
7. Cruz was instrumental in defeating the Gang of 8 bill led by senators like Marco Rubio. Other legislative leaders have acknowledged Cruz’s key role in defeating this bill.
8. Cruz defeated GOPE assigned David Dewhurst whom Perry and others thought would be Kay Bailey Hutchison’s replacement for the Senate in 2012. Cruz won two elections in order to win in a runoff where the GOPE went all in for Dewhurst. This is where Cruz emerged as the incredible outsider that he is.
9. Cruz is the only candidate to defeat Trump so regularly in various locations throughout the nation.
10. Cruz called Mitch McConnell a liar on the floor of the Senate. McConnell is a liar and tricks conservatives into supporting legislation on the floor when he knows he will not reciprocate with future promises offered to those senators. Trump says he will make deals with McConnell.
I don’t have a lot to say for the GOP since Obama took over. Although I will point out that as the legislative assemblies have fallen to the GOP, the deficit numbers have fallen. Spending would be much higher if Democrats controlled the House and Senate as they did in 2008. I also think the Republican control of the Senate is paramount in preventing the appointment of supreme court judges by Obama.
I hear you, that Cruz is your guy. And that’s fine. We won’t change each other’s minds or opinions. Trump is my candidate. I think this point in history sees the populace collectively yearning for Jacksonian politics. Trump more than anybody else embodies the spirit of Andrew Jackson’s fight against corrupt elites.
That's because Trump has never been a politician before.....and that's a good thing because Americans are so tired of career professional politicians.
CGato
Amazing isn't it? We've had endless lines of D.C. career politicians, not all but most of which have done little in life outside of being on the government payroll.
I can't wrap my head around it. These people can't even keep up with Trump. The man built and empire, while the D.C. lawyers recite law as they strain to sound profound.
We don't want another lawyer, we want a leader.
thanks for the ping - I wouldn’t want to have missed this!
Now I know what they reply when told the same thing (one of those oft-repeated phrases here)
Stuck on stupid. What a joke... Texas politicians are sure keeping the LBJ theme alive and the Bush Co dynasty going
NO MORE TEXAS politicians! Including the NON TEXAN Cubnadian Rafael Cruz.
Amen.
Prayer is in order IMO.
I pray for Trump’s personal safety.
I pray for Cruz to get a grip on himself and become the man I thought he was.
I pray for Glenn Beck as I believe he has become mentally unstable :-(
What an election, I’m biting my nails down to the quick.
Well, I dont know the specifics of the circumstance, but after reviewing some of your posts Im guessing you may have given a few days off to cool your heels.
...great, now site censorship when one trys to defend against nasty, crass attacks from trump supporters on the only conservative in the race... FR looks more like DU with the Crony Capitalist Trumpsters all personal all the time. What ever happened to the old FR site. Trump is perfectly happy destroying the Republican party so his buddy Canckles can take power... not good for the future of the Republic.
ymmv
COSPONSORED the disastrous Iran Corker Bill.
It’s true that Trump brings up issues that liberals wouldn’t, and that he isn’t politically correct. I’m not at all confident, though, that his anti-establishment positions are based on political conviction. I doubt that he’s any different from the man he’s always been (a blusterous self-promoter — the kind of celebrity who obtrudes himself upon the public at athletic events).
I prefer him to Hillary merely because I know she’ll take stands I oppose. With Trump it’s merely a suspicion. If he’s elected — which I think unlikely — I won’t be surprised if he betrays his supporters as badly or worse than the Republican establishment has.
No more Cubnadians?
I thought was Canacuban?
