A series of brand new trend polls (three full pdfs below) highlight an ongoing discussion/trend. With increased visibility Senator Ted Cruz support decreases.
It would be inaccurate to say Cruz is collapsing, if it were not for multiple polls indicating the same trend line. However, when you have three completely disparate polls, indicating an almost identical retraction, you cannot dismiss the reality.
Fox News and IPSOS Reuters both identify the issue on a national scale, and within the CBS polling of Pennsylvania voters you find the specifics as to why. First, the Fox Trend Poll showing Donald Trump extending his lead over Cruz to 18 points, as Cruz support plummets by 11 points in a month

As Paul Manafort recently said Cruz is going to have a very bad April or roughly the next 6 weeks.

As Paul Manafort recently said Cruz is going to have a very bad April or roughly the next 6 weeks. Let's hope for a blowout. Cruz can't cheat if it isn't close.

CBS News poll shows change in Trump-Cruz gap
Last month, Trump's lead over Cruz was 20 points, but now it's dropped to 13 points. Trump's margin against Cruz has tightened among men, very conservative voters and those with incomes over $50,000.

It is New York, which hasn't produced a single electoral vote for the GOP since Reagan's 49 state blow-out in 1984.
Indiana, in May, will be the real test.

I got to give Trump credit for his ability to change the narrative to his benefit. He turned a total defeat in Colorado and what could have been another week of “is Trump's support collapsing” stories into a media narrative that Cruz is nothing more than another party establishment stooge, hellbent on stealing the nomination by hook or by crook. If you can turn Ted Cruz into Jeb Bush in the mind of the base, you gotta be good...

According to today’s headlines (three different articles):
Trump is so doomed!
Cruz is so doomed!
Kasich will be the nominee!
At least the stories are consistent.

[Cruz is entering the please clap zone.]
Before Trump can on the scene, I was a big Cruz fan.
Cruz had a golden opportunity to align with Trump as his VP and turned this country around, but he blew it by attacking Trump and joining the GOP.
Cruz’s nosedive and eventual self-destruction will be almost as enjoyable to watch as Trump’s victory.

I think Manafort also said Cruz was about to hit a “rough spot.”
But Manafort underestimated his prescience.
Who knew there’d be rough spots everywhere St Ted looked?

I wonder where Trump would be (and Cruz for that matter) if Trump hired Manafort much earlier in the campaign.

You got that right.......

Yes, but men, very conservative voters, making over 50K is not the electorate. I’m sure you can parse it even more...say, men, very conservative voters, making over 50K (Canadian) and get an even tighter spread.

Obama - it’s Bush’s fault.
Hillary - it’s the Republicans’ fault.
Cruz - it’s Trump’s fault.

The longer lyin' Ted Cruz stays in the race decreases his chances of retaining his senate seat, imo. Also, something tells me that the GOP will never insert Cruz at the convention either.
