Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz got the cold shoulder from a room of 800 Republicans at the New York City GOP gala Thursday night, receiving little interaction from the audience as he went through his usual stump speech.
Cruz, who followed speeches from rivals Donald Trump and John Kasich, began by making a joke at Trumps expense that fell flat. I havent built any buildings in New York City, but I have spent my entire life fighting to defend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the Texas senator said, taking a shot at the GOP front-runner who, just moments before, spent the majority of his speech talking about his New York real estate successes.
Media at the scene reported guests walking around and talking during Cruzs address.

Respect is earned.
Cruz earned New York's contempt.
Never more richly deserved.
Trump's speech was different from his rally and town hall remarks. Stuff that wasn't directly relevant to politics, but showed how he worked, a bit of insight into what got his attention, the fact that he got lucky, that he looked to others for help when projects were stalled.
>> Glad you see the error of your ways.
No! I just don’t! Ted’s gonna win! He just IS!!!
Bless you!
Thanks!
It’s over for Cruz if none of his 99 NEW Friends endorse him.
If you are supporting Ted Cruz at this point, you are in bed with the GOPe, and your candidate is becoming their tool.
You might not see that, but you are supporting the very same GOPe which has sold out American workers, imported millions of illegal immigrants, and let thousands of former American companies to be sold to China. China, a massive communist nation.
What do you support exactly? What?
I guess if Cruz is ever a Supreme Court member he can watch porn with Sandra again...
I'm not surprized by the eGOP in New York City where even the Republicans are Demi-RATS .
Well said. There is GETTING ELECTED and there is BEING PRESIDENT.
If you can't do the first, it doesn't matter how well you might do the second.
Regardless to whether one thinks Cruz or Trump would make the best President, one must face the fact that you can only be President if you win the election.
Trump is the person who can win the election, and Cruz needs to STAND DOWN.
I think Cruz might make a good President. Especially if this were the early 90's or something. Those who believe Cruz can win don't understand that about 80% (my estimate) of voters don't give a hoot about whether Cruz is a conservative Constitutionalist. Certainly not most of the democrat voters, and since they outnumber the republican voters to begin with, the math should be obvious.
SO, here we all are, split between concern over who might be the best President, and who can win the election.
Ted should have bribed them like he bribed those delegates.
>> What do you support exactly? What?
If you had been here more than a couple months you might know.
Allow me to point out that your premises are a bit hyperbolic too.
Thank you!!
2/3 of the Govt., that’s gotta scare you Trumpsters.
A President that can BEAT the Supreme Court - at their OWN Game.......
He only likes the money from Wall Street.
The building the Cruz was giving his speech in was once a rundown slum property, a young Real estate investor made a deal with the city to acquire the property and reinvigorate not only that building but the entire neighborhood. That young man was Donald Trump
>> It appears from this photo that Ted won’t be requiring any laxatives for QUITE a while...
How can you tell, FRiend? All I see is the face of the aggressive a-hole.
I do see that Ted is facing him, and not running away.
I’m curious: is that the kind of guy that scares the ...er, movement out of you?
Are you by chance projecting?
Good point.
But, but Cruz is the only one who can win....these people just dont understand. You will see, the country will never be greater than when we finally put a Canadian into office! Oh such joyous days abead!
