DePaul says no more political chalking in response to pro-Trump messages

DePaul University will no longer allow students to chalk political messages on the sidewalks of its campus because of the “offensive, hurtful, and divisive” nature of pro-Trump chalking found on campus last week.

“While these chalk messages are part of national agendas in a heated political battle, they appeared on campus at a time of significant racial tension in our country and on college campuses. DePaul is no exception,” Depaul’s vice president for student affairs Eugene Zdziarski wrote in a campus-wide email obtained by Campus Reform. “The university has been addressing campus climate issues in an effort to provide an inclusive and supportive educational environment. In this context, many students, faculty and staff found the chalk messages offensive, hurtful and divisive.”

Last week, Depaul’s College Republicans organized a chalking campaign on campus, during which phrases such as “Make DePaul great again,” “Blue Lives Matter,” and “Trump Train 2016” were scrawled on the sidewalks.

The campus grounds crew removed the chalkings the following morning but cited routine maintenance as one of the reasons for their removal.

“After some investigation, it turns out this happened for two reasons,” the university wrote in a statement. “First, the crew regularly cleans up chalk messages on our sidewalks. This is a part of their duties. Secondly, some among the crew considered the messages inflammatory. The crew has agreed to consult about such matters in the future.”

When chalk is outlawed, only outlaws will have chalk.

Can there be political chalking in response to anti-Trump messages, however?

I was in college during the anti vietnam war demonstrations in the 70’s. If such a ridiculous decision like this were declared the entire campus would have been covered in chalk. Conservatives should be just as non-compliant as the f’in hippies.

Depaul’s vice president for student affairs Eugene Zdziarski is little different from any other brown-shirted book-burner.

Why a know-nothing anti-intellectual like Zdziarski thinks that he actually belongs at an institution of higher learning is a bit of a mystery. Apparently he is somewhat lacking in the “self-awareness” department.

But maybe we can find him a job more suited to his temperament. “Nanny” comes to mind.

College students usually have a good sense of humor. I remember when a certain basketball player shot himself accidentally then blamed it on some imaginary redneck muttering something about basketball players.

The cops showed he was lying. Protestors showed up firing off cap guns at open practice.

Yes, I even remember his name, after all these years. Steve Stipanovich.

The pro-Trump chalking has nothing to do with “significant racial tension.”

It is political, not racial.

Until DePaul tries to equate it racial tension. At which point Depaul become guilty of making fraudulent allegations, with the intent of stirring ‘racial tension.’

Dr. Zdziarski comes to DePaul from Roanoke College in Salem, Va., a private liberal arts college with approximately 2,000 full-time students, where he served as vice president for Student Affairs and dean of students for over five years. Before that, he served as assistant vice president and dean of students for seven years at the University of Florida, with a student body of 50,000. He also served as associate director of student life at Texas A&M University, where he worked for 15 years in various roles serving nearly 50,000 students.
Gene is a graduate of Oklahoma State University, earned his master’s degree in education from the University of Tennessee and received his Ph.D. in educational administration from Texas A&M. He is a nationally recognized expert on campus safety issues and has co-authored a book on crisis management.

Gene was recently named a 2014 Pillar of the Profession by Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA), and received the John Koldus Award for Distinguished Service to NASPA in 2008. He is known for his commitment to collaboration and fostering students’ academic achievement.

In other words just another liberal “pilar” POS!

“College students usually have a good sense of humor. “

I’m not talking about some nonsensical college prank. Leftists have greatly advanced their agenda by civil disobedience against laws they thought unjust. Being punished for writing a presidential candidate’s name on campus is unjust, I dont give a damn if it is on university property.
