Wednesday at a town hall hosted by CNNs Anderson Cooper, Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was asked about the potential of his former opponent Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) being a potential running mate, given that if Rubio made a deal that gave Cruz his delegates, it could push him over the top to the GOP nomination.

So Cruz is going to offer Marco the VP slot for his 170. What’s he going to offer the guy who can make up the other 400 or so he’ll be short?
Not gonna happen. Marco knows Cruz is a snake.
Hey, Trump said pretty much the same thing about Rubio the other day (and Kasich too, for that matter).
“Im a big Cruz supporter, this is disappointing to me.”

Why? He did not say that Marco was the leading candidate! Ted may need Rubio’s support and his delegates in Cleveland. Plus, Rubio should be on everyone’s VP shortlist, was in 2012, probably will be over the next few cycles!
I don’t recall where I read this, but apparently, Fidel and Raoul actually now own much of Cuba’s business.
So much for communism.
Cruz sold out because he was losing donors and needed the money...Plus, he’s been a sheep in a wolf’s clothing from the start...He’s never really strayed too far from the “establishment”...Just put on a good act....
After 11 wins Cruz has put together a team to vet his VP picks. Now that’s funny.
“Whats with Cruz and Trump mentioning Rubio? ....”
They want to win, and Rubio has charm and might be a vote getter. Rubio is conservative on most other issues, but too bad about the Gang of 8.
Rubio speak fluent Spanish...Cruz a little bit....I could see Rubio going into the Hispanic communities around the country singing the praises of Cruz and Conservative philosophy...
This would force the Hildabeast to pick one of the Castro brothers or an old guy like Bill Richardson...it would make for a good contrast!
We need a maricón?
Politico a viable source? You might as well try running around FR saying that the Huffington Post and Salon have accurate reporting.
I’d rather see JC Watts as VP.
Beat me to it!
Me too, again Ted
Rubio is conservative on most other issues, but too bad about the Gang of 8.

Yeah, it’s only losing the rule of law and the country..../s
Oh, I’m not going to stop supporting Cruz, Rubio just rubs me the wrong way. Something about him just sets my teeth on edge.
“So Cruz is going to offer Marco the VP slot for his 170. Whats he going to offer the guy who can make up the other 400 or so hell be short?”

Here you go....
The way things are going, Cruz should have about 800 declared delegates going into Cleveland...that will only require him to win 255 out of the remaining 760 delegates (33%) in upcoming primaries!
Rubio has 171 declared...
Kasich has 143, will likely end up with about 150 declared...
The RNC has about 89 undeclared, will likely have about 150 undeclared...
800+171+150+150=1,271....Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!
The offers will be...
“Marco, my new bestest VP buddy”...
“Johnny, my new bestest Secretary of Treasury buddy”...
The RNC will need no offer!
I’d take Rubio over Katich any day! Cruz would be a fool to not consider Rubio if it puts him over the 1237 mark, especially if that is for the first balloting. After the first ballot, Cruz may not need Rubio. I certainly hope Trump does not bring in Katich just to get to 1237. I don’t see that happening, but the Donald is the “Great Deal Maker” so who knows.
In any case, we all know that VPs mean little once in office. Biden is a classic example - mostly comic relief with little substance.
True but as VP, he has no control on agenda. Rubio does bring foreign policy to both Cruz and trump. Also Rubio is more likable then both of them which in today’s American idol atmosphere is needed.
Trump did mention Rubio, and Walker and Kasich, too. This was widely reported.
