A Florida prosecutor has decided not to prosecute Donald Trump’s campaign manager for battery after a March run-in with former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields, sources with knowledge of the situation told POLITICO.
The decision not to press charges against Corey Lewandowski is scheduled to be announced on Thursday afternoon by Palm Beach County State Attorney David Aronberg.
Fields may still pursue a defamation case against Lewandowski, a source said.
Fields filed a police report last month after Lewandowski grabbed her by the arm and moved her out of Trump’s way following a press conference at Trump National Gold Club in Jupiter. She said he left bruises on her arm. Police later charged Lewandowski with simple battery, releasing video from surveillance cameras that shows Lewandowski reaching for and grabbing Fields.
Aronberg would not comment, but in a POLITICO interview last week, he pointed out that Jupiter police had a low “probable cause” standard to cite Lewandowski for battery. But the responsibility for moving forward with a full-blown prosecution rested with Aronberg’s office, which had to consider whether a crime occurred and whether they believed a jury of Floridians would prosecute.
“We have a higher standard to go forward with a prosecution,” he said.

This was the right decision. The reporter was trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
I’d like someone to look into her potentially fake audio of someone supposedly threatening her life. The audio where, when the guy threatens her life, she replies, “Ok...?”

Did her report actually say that? I don’t remember seeing anything specific on the “Incident Report” that was filled out.
I really didn’t understand how the Jupiter PD were able to send it to the prosecutor, for that reason.
WHAT did she claim happened exactly, to the police? BC it had to be different than “In Her Own Words” where she (and Terris) claimed she was almost yanked down. I never saw her make that claim except in her story at Breitbart.
Will she be prosecuted for filing a false police report about being knocked down?

Plenty of evidence Michelle Fields lied.
She should be arrested and prosecuted for making a false claim.
After all - she actually did harm to Lewandowski’s reputation and to the Trump campaign.

I predict that Mark Levin is going to be furious, and will yell at his audience for a week straight over this.

She won’t sue civilly-—because she’d have to take the stand. The defense attorneys would tear her apart and reveal all sorts of things that she simply can’t allow become public. Talk about a can of worms...

Let's see if the Florida media, the media that went into SPASMS when this story broke, will cover this story with the same enthusiasm.
The charges were a huge nothingburger right form the start.
Corey Lewandowski was supposed to have committed some kind of simple battery on Michelle Fields, a sometimes reporter who does seem to be a little too confrontational at times. But she was the one who was trying to get inside the Secret Service cadre surrounding The Donald, and that rises quickly to the point of assault on her part.
Remember the approach of a stranger to Bobby Kennedy in June of 1968, and the aftermath of that brush.
Bobby Kennedy was the object of an assassination, which probably did a lot to change YEARS of history. Almost certainly, Bobby would have been nominated and even elected, negating all the Nixon years and their long term effect.
Touch a tripwire, and that is what you get.
