Captain obvious here again, but NeverTrump/NeverCruz is not the way. We all have our favorites, but don't lose sight of the mission.
The mission on FR is to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our POSTERITY!!
It's a lot bigger than you or me or our personal opinions or egos. It's about the very survival of our nation and the promise of freedom for future generations.
Reagan said that freedom is never more than one generation from extinction and he was 100% correct.
President Clinton or President Sanders means the end of freedom in America.
Do not let freedom expire on our watch!!
Free Republic will support our Republican nominee whoever he is against the godless Marxist/socialist Democrats in November!!

“Do not let freedom expire on our watch ...”
That sounds like a call to action. How will we answer?
Including Ryan or Romney?
I’ll call out Cruz and his supporters when I see it but I’ll still vote for the man over HildaBeast or that Socialist Putz.
Really, they hosted primary elections during Lincoln. You might want to re-check your facts.
Candidates generally drop out when their finances force them to.
Since delegates at all levels help make rules and other decisions for the future, as well as making personal contacts and acquiring knowledge of the process for the future, there is good reason for delegates and candidates to participate well past the point that they can’t win this time around.
LOL!
When he’s tired of competing or when the Convention has nominated somebody else.
>> Cmon. Its not even close.
Then let it play out, and support the winner.
What are you worried about? If “it’s not even close”, then what does Trump have to fear?
... or maybe it’s “closer” than you’d care to admit.
Can we at least agree on that Kasich needs to go?!?!
Amen.
Cruz is down by 200 delegates. About 24% behind.
But Trump needs over 60% winning of remaining delegates to wrap this thing up.
That’s not going to happen, especially since he has been winning states with only about 37% of the vote so far.
Mathmatically, Trump would have to just BLOW things out of the water and reverse his entire campaign’s course to win it outright.
Obviously its even more challenging for Cruz. Like 90-95% win rate of remaining delegates. Practically impossible.
But given the situation, if you were playing a basketball game and were in the 3rd quarter, and the opposition had to increase their winning percentage by 150% in order to win, would you give up? Not a perfect analogy, really the closest sport to the situation would likely be cricket or something with a minimum set runs/points to win, but you get the idea right?
Cruz would be flat out insane to throw in the towel at this point. He is not helping the GOPe, he is trying to win his nomination. In the process, he has been picking off delegates at the state conventions, secureing Cruz people for 2nd/3rd ballot votes...
Trump will lose in the convention if he doesn’t win beforehand. Cruz, will not.
Trump’s most likely path to victory is a deal with Cruz or Kasich.
Trump’s ego says Kasich.
And you think a convention controlled by establishment RINOS under establishment RINO rules (that can be manipulated at their will) will appoint a constitutional conservative that they absolutely hate to be their establishment RINO standard bearer?
Cruz should team up with Trump to ensure this can never happen.
>> Can we at least agree on that Kasich needs to go?!?!
Count me in!
“Trump is certainly no conservative and you know it.”
And Jeff Sessions doesn’t know it. neither Does Palin, Ingraham, Schlafly, Jan Brewer, Falwell, and Sheriff Joe.
Take a look around you: "we" have answered by throwing feces at each other. Maybe that's normal for this forum during a Presidential election ... that doesn't make it a good thing.
Always Criminal = Republican Elite + Donor Class
It is a game, not an election. Get behind the front runner early wins. Other strategies are a losing gamble.
It is NOT AN ELECTION.
That said, a candidate needs BOTH the legal/popular side and the criminal side to win.
It is a essentially a tie once Cruz grabs the unbound and Rubio delegates.
They NEED to team up. Even if they hate each other’s guts
(they dont)
