Captain obvious here again, but NeverTrump/NeverCruz is not the way. We all have our favorites, but don't lose sight of the mission.
The mission on FR is to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our POSTERITY!!
It's a lot bigger than you or me or our personal opinions or egos. It's about the very survival of our nation and the promise of freedom for future generations.
Reagan said that freedom is never more than one generation from extinction and he was 100% correct.
President Clinton or President Sanders means the end of freedom in America.
Do not let freedom expire on our watch!!
Free Republic will support our Republican nominee whoever he is against the godless Marxist/socialist Democrats in November!!
LOLOLOL.
Correct!
Anti-Trump RNC Delegate Says Shell Vote for Hillary Over Trump
Wonder if that smug DC biotch is related to Preet Bharara, DemoRAT Chucky "Cheese" Schumer's right-hand apparatchik?
Note the gloating over how the County where Trump won by 12 points will be represented by 90% Cruz Supporters at the Convention?
It appears Trump Supporters won't be allowed on the floor in Cleveland!
Cue the Looney Tunez...
PINGING RitaOK!
It’s like the Measles! Contagious Disease!
Sharky,
You’re going to be proved correct:
Cruz will be the most hated man!
It's one thing to disagree with a candidate, but throwing your support behind the opposing party, especially an opposing party so out of line with The Constitution, should be cause for instant dismissal and replacement.
There's simply no way that she (and others) could ever support a candidate with Hillary's platform, if she is a sincere member of the GOP's platform.
She (and her ilk) need to be shown the door, and replaced with people who understand this country's foundation.
Thanks!
Thanks
=Then the fight to regain the nation!
No, you didn’t explain anything. You made a claim, and I pointed out that your claim was false.
BTW, Trump has received many, many votes from Democrats in open primaries, so the concept that Trump should be Democratically selected is a bit ironic. LOL.
Also, during the past 8 years, I have posted on FR a number of times that the only way to wrest control from the Dims and the GOPe is to put an end to open primaries. I maintain that this is still true.
So this took quite a bit of digging, but man was it interesting, sorry for the delay in responding:

The Rules and the Order of Business

Rule 4. Three hundred and four votes, being a majority of the whole number of votes when all the stes of the Union are represented in this Convention, according to the rates of representation presented in Rule 2, shall be required to nominate the candidates of this Convention for the office of President and Vice-President.
The next 29 pages cover an objection to Rule 4, over the specificity of the number of 304 votes constituting a majority.
This was because there was concern over voting by proxy to achieve this specific number, as not all of these delegates were going to be able to make it to the convention.
This finally was resolved by Page 72, by altering the language as such:
Page 72
4th. That the majority of the whole number of votes represented in this Convention, according to the ratio prescribed by the second rule, shall be required to nominate candidates for the offices of President and Vice-President.
They removed the specificity so it was essentially a majority of those present, as opposed to a hard number.
As you can see, its been a majority since the beginning, or at least the second RNC.
So I guess you’ll be amazed at the amazingly organized Cruz campaign come the convention.
Remember, when he wins, this campaign (not the failed Trump one) will be the one which becomes the national campaign.
Well defined and well organized.
Victory will be certain in the general.
100% agree.
Its sickening that folks whom have their candidate losing are so quick to abandon our republican system... that is what this is by the way, a republican system.
Delegates are representative of the communities they come from.
The GOP is not a top down party like the DNC.
Just because Trump hails from the DNC does not mean the GOP operates this way.
It never has, and as long as I’m a part of it, it never will.
It’s admirable for you to think everyone will simply forget all the previous twists and turns this GOP campaign has taken, however, when our party is plotting against its voters, it will not be easily forgotten.
I don’t blame Free Republic because this forum has been fair to both Cruz & Trump. I blame the Republican representatives for not supporting the American voter -no matter who the voter prefers in this election.
America is no longer a country of the people, by the people and for the people. America is lost.
Then what? Where does he get voters?
Lets say you chaps are correct and Cruz gets the nomination by the second ballot without any need to accommodate trump and his supporters.
fine...
what is the path to victory in the November election:
How does Cruz have a chance to take Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia and Maryland.
Polls show Trump to be competitive in those states (you could make an argument he is not in Ohio and Maryland, granted).
Not so sure about Ted. Living in eastern PA I can tell you the working middle class see very little appeal in him. He simply does not really address the issues that matter to them.
Him saying he wants to raise the retirement age to 70 is pure gold for the Dems. So the guy that had 1 million in assets at age 39, as a government employee wants the working folks to give something up at 67....Does not play well. Tone deaf.
So please one of the Cruz advocates has to address this, which I notice none ever do. You all ignore it or make simple declarative statements about happy days. You all simply state he beats Hillary, which is a willful ignoring of detailed poll data and a failure to understand and entire northeast/ex-industrial states. It is simple projection of your desires.
The rest of the country dos not see it that way.
Thanks for taking time to research and send
