Former Cruz Aide: Trump Now Believes He Will Lose Nomination at Convention
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 04/13/2016 6:05:20 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Does Donald Trump think he's going to lose the nomination at the convention? Are his current complaints about RNC "dirty tricks," the system being "rigged," etc. a preview of the explanation he'll be offering when he does indeed lose? Yes, and yes, if you buy what former senior Cruz aide Rick Tyler said on today's Morning Joe.

After the show rolled video of Trump's attacks on the RNC, Joe Scarborough said that the Donald had hit the "sweet spot." Scarborough again made the case for Trump, saying "no, that's the speech of somebody that can win 49 states and would be enraged he lost the 50th." But Tyler pushed back, saying "that's not the speech of a winner. That's the speech of someone who believes he's losing . . . He actually believes now he's going to lose this nomination at the convention on the second ballot."

Former Cruz aide Tyler says Trump now believes he will lose nomination at convention, and current complaints about rigged system and dirty tricks are a preview of what he’ll say when he loses.

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.

Well, strictly speaking, it’ll be stolen from him.

But, yes, the fix is in.

Unless trump hits the magic number, which will not happen, he cannot lose that which has not been won.

If he does he is surely planning his third-party run.

Bernie has repeatedly said he would not run third party.
But I do believe he thinks he can win a four-way split.

Interesting times.

That's the speech of someone who understands, VERY WELL, the undercurrent of dissatisfaction by VOTERS and is seeking to maximize their support.

These guys project too much.

It's all okay. We'll finally have the destruction of the Republican Party (much deserved due to the corruption) and probably the entire political process. It will disintegrate and bring on the civil war which will probably then bring retribution to ALL of the people who deserve it.

Sadly, those who have mightily tried and have done what is right will also suffer. It's going to be a really bad experience.

Well, then, you guys have nothing to worry about, right? You can march in, grab the nomination and lose the general in an epic blaze of glory.

As Mark Levin said yesterday, there is no welfare when it comes to delegates. So, Trump needs to fight for them, not whine about it. Popular vote means crap, otherwise there would be President Algore.

When Trump knows for sure he will lose he will drop out and run 3rd Party.
He has such a deranged evil hate for Ted Cruz he would try to scuttle his campaign even if Ted were running against Hitler.
Many thought Hillary and Donald made a DEAL.
Sure starting to look like it.

Trump will get 1237, Ted will be a greeter at a Canadian Walmart after his deportation.

It’s probably more of an effort to get his supporters fired up, and getting them voting like never before. Before, Trump would always talk about how he was leading in the polls, “by a lot,” which may have actually suppressed his own voter turnout. Now he’s getting his voters motivated, because he knows that if he goes into the convention with even a handful of delegates less than 1237, he’ll lose the nomination.

Yeah, I should really believe what a Cruz supporter says when he tells us what Trump “thinks”.

It is biased opinion and supposition on his part.

I guess the Cruz camp now offers free ESP services as a bonus.

Pure propaganda.
