Tried. Tried. Tried. Failed. Failed. Failed. With that success he should run for president. What a crock. The house stopped immigration after Cruz failed to stop it in the senate. Obamacare passed and signed. Liberal judges? Lol. They are all on the court. Good grief I think Cruz does better work for the democrats then Harry Reid.

“Cruz wasn’t a moron. This bill was loaded up like a Christmas tree. Ted had the balls to vote against it. Bunch of cybabies.”

I understand that BUT his vote effected those people. That does not make them crybabies as you said.......you would be “crying’ also if a storm wiped you out and someone voted not to help you! You might want to rethink your cold uncaring comment!!!!!!!

"He claims there was too much pork in the bill - he was trying to make a point but did it without caring about the victims."

One of the interesting aspects of the storm reconstruction is that when boardwalks were rebuilt the next Spring, many boardwalks that were rebuilt included potted palm trees. These boardwalks didn't have palm trees before Sandy, probably because palm trees can't survive the harsh winters. (The miracle of "cost plus" contracting!) And boardwalks mostly didn't have palms after the winter following Sandy, in spite of promises of "global warming".

Yes, there were tons of waste, graft and corruption in the bill. I would have voted against it, too.

So one of Trump's supporters organizes a protest against HEIDI Cruz. Can't help himself picking on women.

You are saying women representing their husbands on the campaign trail are too weak to take criticism? There should be a different standard for women? That is very demeaning and condescending to women.

If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. Or maybe you think women should stay home in the kitchen.

“All Cruz’s ooze is coming back to bury him.

Go Trump!”

No help for Americans, but senators like `Ted’ Cruz stood by while Obama gave 500 million US dollars last month to the UN to fight “global warming”.

Cruz can relate to stuff like that ... Barry’s job-hunting before too very long, and those votes for UN Sec-General don’t buy themselves.

We need a president for ALL Americans. GO TRUMP!

Kinda strange that he doesn’t protest Ted, just Heidi. He has every right to protest.

“You know who should be in charge of disaster relief? Walmart. They have the logistics, the money, and the products to get people back on their feet.”

Yep. That’s why looters go there first. LOL.

BTW, your comment raises a couple of interesting questions:
1. Are big box retailers covered by their insurance for total loss of contents due to natural disaster?
2. Is loss due to looting also covered?
If the answer is ‘no’ to either of these questions, then does that mean Wal-Mart gets FEMA (taxpayer) dollars?

Some of my neighbors wondered about this after Katrina, when all 5 Wal-Marts within 5 miles of my neighborhood were looted. It looked like the buildings survived ok, except for the plate glass windows which were intentionally smashed. The contents were pretty much cleaned out, but some people were saying, who cares? It’s covered by insurance.

“what the Trumpsters would have done if a Cruz supporter protested Trump or his family?”

Yup .. and remember when the white powder and death threat was sent to Cruz and then they sent a death threat to Cruz’s sister.

I agree with you.
IMO, fedgov should help pay for major infrastructure repairs such as roads, bridges, levees, power lines, sewers and treatment plants.
But when did we start assuming that the taxpayers should buy new houses and furnishings for individuals?

The guy who protested Heidi is a trump guy.

I’m a Trump supporter and I was and am against that sort of bill.

I wanted New Orleans to stay under.

I will not expect you or the taxpayers to recover me for free.

Apparently, you believe the rest of us are your forced insurance plan.

What sort of louse thinks the way you do?

After Sandy, I was talking with a few FEMA reps who were sent to my area to “assist” with people who needed help. Just for shits and giggles, I asked what I could get in aid since I had five massive oaks trees come down on my garage and deck. I was told that if I had insurance, I was not entitled to anything, not even a low interest loan. FEMA was there to assist the people who had no insurance. How do you own a house and not have homeowner’s insurance? FEMA gave out an extra ration of food stamps to anyone who came forward. You did not have to even prove that you lost your EBT card. Our tax dollars paid for this.

Two people I know lost their houses completely—a cousin and an old high school friend. Lavallette and Toms River.

No, it is the right thing to have insurance.

There is flood insurance for these things, and that is sponsored by the government. That is more than enough.

Idiots who buy houses on the coast and expect others to recover them are, well, idiots.

People have a gross misunderstanding of what FEMA is supposed to do in the early stages of a disaster. It’s job is not general disaster response. It was never intended to distribute food, water or generators to victims. That is a local or state responsibility.

FEMA is supposed to come in and assess damage and then get local and state agencies coordinating to get infrastructure operating as soon as possible Their basic job is continuity of government.

Yes Walmart is probably way better at providing logistics (food, water, ice and other needs for individual victims) than FEMA is. Where FEMA excels is providing heavy duty logistics (massive generators, heavy equipment, mobile communications units, emergency housing and infrastructure rebuilding supplies that Walmart or Home Depot don’t even handle.

FEMA is constantly getting roped into doing things they never were intended to do and responding to disasters that are not really “National” in scope. I worked for that agency and many good people there realize that it is being totally misused in many instances. Politicians of both parties look at FEMA as a source of $$$$$ instead of an agency with a specific limited mission.

FEMA is actually a very small agency that relies on reservists who are only called up when the President signs a disaster declaration. The vast bulk of FEMA employees do not work fulltime for the Federal government nor do they get any of the benefits that regular Federal employees have.
