WOW! Donald Trump surges to 60% in New York state!
Leads Ted Cruz by 46 points!
NY1 reported:
Donald Trump has a commanding 43-point lead in the New York Republican presidential primary, and Hillary Clinton has a 13-point advantage in the Democratic primary, according to a NY1/Baruch College poll released Monday night.
Running in his home state, Trump is supported by 60 percent of likely Republican voters, the poll found. Ohio Gov. John Kasich and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas trail far behind with 17 percent and 14 percent, respectively.
“Trump is just killing it,” said Baruch College pollster Mickey Blum.
Trump’s support in the April 19 primary is widespread, the poll found.
“Every demographic group goes for him,” said Baruch College pollster Doug Muzzio. “Every geographic group, every socio-economic group. And with large majorities. Cruz ain’t doing it. And Kasich ain’t doing it.”

If Trump wants to get to 1,237, he’s going to need to win NY by 60+%

I am disappointed to see someone so opposed to conservatism polling well in New York.
It does fit with the state’s official view from people like Governor Cuomo and others who says that true conservatives must leave the state of New York because they are not welcome there.

“Cruz may well finish in last in all six remaining primaries here in April”
He will. And that will be the ‘momentum’ has going into IN.
It’s over for CRUZ as far as the voters are concerned.

Gee, I hope Cruz doesn’t try to steal New York State.

Trump is done, if he can't get 61% in his own home state and lead by 47 points than he needs to drop out. Where is tid kitty, even in satire he deserves a place on this here thread..................:-)

Keep in mind that this is the same state that elected Eliot Spitzer as Governor, Hillary Clinton as Senator and Chuck Schumer to the other Senate seat.
Trump is in good company.

I read yesterday that, in the polls, “they” were intentionally underplaying TRUMP’s real support, in NY.
Manafort is only just beginning to get his sea legs under him, and the difference he makes is already in sight.

I switched in January. Those Chicago comments just made me change from still liking Cruz to deciding he was a fraud. Every day since, he's proved me right.

More candidates were in the race at that time-— oh, maybe Cruz forgot to cheat there.

The standard error of the estimate must be huge with a sample of 324 voters.
I agree with you, this poll is set up to create headlines and sense of inevitability. I for one think Trump is below 50% in most districts.

I totally understand. The accumulation of evidence just leaves me shaking my head.
I don't understand it, I just get the feeling Cruz is destroying his senate career over this and it's just a shame.

I'm glad I changed preference to Trump before all this negative crap came out. I changed because I thought Trump was the stronger and better candidate, not because I didn't like Cruz. It took me months of watching what Trump was doing to realize he was the best candidate, and would make the best president.

I agree. I prefer Trump, but the poll sample size is small, hence the large error (+/- 5.8%)
But that being said, even with the error, Trump is likely still over 50%.
Let’s see a series of polls with large sample sizes and low errors. Even better, let’s just wait until next Tuesday and the real poll will tell the tale!
