I listen to a lot of 80’s music these days.
I really would hop in the DeLorean and go back there
if I could.

Joan Jett has a voice as strong as ever and she does not mention *anything* related to politics in her concerts.
She is a vegetarian (who are typically very preachy) and she simply does a great, energetic, non-political rock show.
She mentions nothing of her personal beliefs and has played for our troops in more than FIFTEEN combat zones the past bunch of years with zero attempt to draw fanfare. She deserves to be cut a little bit of slack...

Oh, I wasn’t taking a dig at her. A woman’s voice can only take so much before wearing out as they cruise past age 45.

I’d still see her, as she was the first rocker who got my out of my seat, screaming and dancing to her tunes, while I was on the 3rd row.

She was so hot back then

FWIW, a singing voice does not wear out like the rest of the body does. (Source: ME...55 years old and one of the youngest members of a choir, 11 years in the choir after an absence from singing of 25+ years.)

That most certainly does not mean I want to hear him ‘sing’ (aka gargle with gravel).

I remember her going off in support of Obama - but I didn’t mark it down. Found this, FWIW (content edited at one point):

I Love Rock ‘n Roll Politics

Jett appears to be just about as liberal as you’d expect the queen of rock ‘n roll to be. She’s supported Democratic candidates financially since 2003, from Howard Dean through Barack Obama. She says she generally keeps her views to herself–but not really.

First, she is very strongly pro-choice and has a hard time understanding where anti-abortion activists are coming from:

I’m very perturbed and I don’t understand how these pro-life people are so concerned about a bunch of cells in a woman’s uterus but once the kid is born, they couldn’t give a ****. . . . But as long as it’s some kind of fetus, it has all kinds of rights. . . . The right to life should mean the right to a life that’s already here, not the life that’s being thought about.

The poor guy is trying to get free publicity. I have never heard of him.

I've never heard of him either. But, this seems like a great promotional idea... perhaps I should issue a press release announcing my appearances in various places!

Do folks spend much money preparing to attend a concert these days? It sure would be a shame if every single person with a ticket were to go to small claims court, in Biloxi, and sue Mr Adams for any and all incidental expenses. New clothes. Trip to the hairdresser. Copies of his CDs in order to be familiar with his music. Etc.

It might be quite bothersome.

I guess there was no cancellation penalty clause in his contract.

The same laws that protects the people of conscience from the LGBT activists is the law that will protect Adams from being punished for cancelling the concert. Adams just highlighted the need and use of a law to protect offended service people.

The only reason we got Starship and Kansas was because some band members and former band members live in Destin. Little River Band has been here at least three times, twice for festivals and once for a night club gig. Blue Oyster Cult was here for a night club gig as well as America and some others....................

Hehe. I once spent about $200 for a date one night. New clothes, new shoes, concert tickets, nice dinner overlooking the city (it was a Baby Doe’s Matchless Mine).

Yeah, she was a waste of time - not nearly as much as her lying friend, though, lol. But the clothes were useful and I had a nice dinner. It was Chicago / Beach Boys, as I recall. Interesting combination.
