'We shouldn't judge people by ... who they love, what gender they identify with'
(Arne Sorenson, CEO of Marriott International)
For Arne Sorenson, CEO of Marriott International, it was an easy call when it came time to voice his opinion on North Carolinas HB2, the nations first state law limiting the bathroom options for transgender people.
The law also excludes lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from anti-discrimination protections, and blocks municipalities from adopting their own anti-discrimination and living wage rules.
In first-person opinion piece on CNBC, Sorenson wrote: I was asked to join a group of American business leaders and CEOs in opposing North Carolinas HB2, a bill passed recently that sanctions LGBT discrimination across that state.
For Marriott and for me, this was an easy call. The law does not reflect our values or a basic principle that helps drive new jobs and economic growth in North Carolina and beyond: Everyone deserves to be welcome. We are disappointed with the unusual speed that was given to passing and signing this legislation into law, undoubtedly an attempt to minimize public outcry.
Undeterred, Im pleased to see that we are aligned with civil rights advocates, as well as most of the states top employers and job creators in calling for HB2 to be repealed. Weve also heard a chorus of objections from major sporting leagues and organizers of popular North Carolina events, like the upcoming High Point Market Week that celebrates the states outstanding furnishings and design industry. At Marriott, we are also hearing from concerned customers and local employees.

Idiotic Scandinavian CEO bends over for the butt rangers. Will desk clerks have to ask everyone if they're a pervert? Sheets, towels and the rooms must be thoroughly sanitized, but even then a regular human being will wonder what happened on the mattress he's now sleeping on.
The LGBT & homo marriage & homosexual activist agenda is simply the cover for the left's anti-Christian agenda, so it should come as no surprise that Christians are targeted.
Don't look for Gideon Bibles anymore.
Guess I’ll stay at Best Western, Hilton, anyplace but.....
Does anyone else see that this is the end of the US? Not tomorrow or next week, but soon.
Unless we turn back the tide this November!!
How do we reeducate people under 35 who have been indoctrinated?
Marriott was known for having a Book of Mormon in the bedside table. They also lived out their Mormon faith by tithing on every cup of coffee and alcoholic drink they sold.
“Because, really, its all about the Benjamins to my company.”
Marriott has for years been known as “family friendly,” and by “family friendly,” they mean “gay-family friendly.”
None of these laws are anti-gay. When a state passes a law banning gays from working living, traveling, that’s anti-gay. Preventing grown men from going in to a bathroom with little girls is not. Allowing ministers to follow their religion is not. Preventing a photographer from being forced to work against his will is not. The line needs to be drawn and fought for to the win.
Letting a man go pee in a restroom with your daughter is a ‘gay’ right that needs to be protected?
I am getting very sick of these twisted degenerate freaks.
A business contact of mine was recently stunned to find a Gideon Bible in the nightstand in his hotel.....IN INDIA!
The brats are acting up, therefore this is the end of the world?
We ought to expect to see knee jerking from their like (it’s ironic they complain about the speed of the passage of the law) but the “buycott” may kick in, albeit more slowly. People choosing to patronize a place because it has decent values.
So when will Marriott stop using all petroleum products since Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries have laws banning homosexuality and enforces a death penalty for it?
Let me tell you right now... India (even Hindus!) is more open to the gospel than know-it-all USA.
Why does an issue like this immediately polarize with firmly planted feet instead of leading to calls to debate about it? It used to be the USA was known for being open minded. Now India is more open minded.
Elevator music shall be a continuous playing of MO ON RIVER
It can't be done. I have a theory that liberalism, leftist thought, whatever you want to call it, actually causes brain damage. I think it somehow messes up the language center of the brain where certain words and phrases are attached to false meanings and emotion. When any topic comes up using the affected language, falsehoods and emotion take over and the person is rendered incapable of analytical thought.
This may sound crazy but history is full of proof that teaching the very young false information results in lifelong irrational decisions. It can't be undone in most cases.
You get things like faggot-marriage spread across the land, and before you know it, you wind up with “corporate America” standing up for perverts, creeps and child-molesters to prey on children.
Once the nation opens the door to evil and depravity, there’s just no end.
“Okay” has nothing to do with it chief. It’s human decency. Grow up sonny. You’re supposed to be a CEO. Act like one.
They should, however, advertise that they have no morals or religion in order to attract the pervert trade.
