Kasich: 'Establishment' not going to let Trump, Cruz become nominee
The Washington Examiner ^ | April 10, 2016 | By Rudy Takala (@RudyTakal

Republican delegates are not going to be likely to support either Donald Trump or Texas Sen. Ted Cruz when they get to the party's national convention in July, Ohio Gov. John Kasich said on Sunday.
.
.
.
"Here's what's interesting," Kasich said, suggesting that he was prepared to go down in history. "I am the second choice of both the Cruz people and also the Trump people. As you know, we've had 10 contested conventions, and only three times has the front-runner won. I don't want to go back in history too far, but I think old Honest Abe went into the convention either third or fourth and came out the winner. So we'll see."

A tacit admission by Kasich that the RNC is a racketeering influenced and corrupt organization.

Maybe some day, before it’s too late for the country, the people will realize the gop has been screwing us for years and will start a real conservative party.

I personally will vote Libertarian rather than vote for Kasich. So he is not my second choice.

Hmm, there's an idea.

Cruz is unsupportable, Kasich is nearly invisible, and voting for either of the Democrat socialists is unthinkable. Once the candidate of the people has been eliminated, who is there to vote for?

Lincoln sent the country into a premature and unnecessary civil war, costing many many lives and tearing the nation apart.

I’m sure the uni-party would like that.

He would not get my vote, nor many on the right, as we was NOT for states rights obviously.

Nor would he even make it onto any ticket in modern times, unless he supported open trade, was owned by the banks, and wanted every alien in the world to come to America and register to vote.

Plus, he had a face that would have scared the dog if it were televised.

The days of brokered conventions should be long past, we are in the information age.

>>I’m sure the uni-party would like that.

They’d like to see a small, easily defeated uprising so they can “reach across the aisle” to pass those “common sense gun laws” that prevent the average citizen from owning any. Then the American people will finally be where they want us: stuck between government jack-booted thugs and Third World invaders and they’ll let us choose who our masters will be.

Wolverines!!

If the GOP denies the will of the People
for Bishop Romney and his partner in crime:Soros,
then the GOP must be treated as the Enemy
of the People (which it is, already) !

Because Cruz is such a dirtbag that NOBODY except his kooky sycophants will vote for him if he steals it. I’m looking forward to Kasick getting it instead of Lying Ted in Cleveland.

Cruz is sweeping nothing. This is the work of the GOPe machine using party insiders who have been in place since before the primaries began. They may claim they are for Cruz for the slow learners but the fact is they have no loyalty to Cruz. This is why the GOPe is so smug they have control of the nomination process Wake up Cruzers, your boy was taken over by the GOPe and is nothing more then a Rino Nominating political machine now.

All the politicians care about is lining their pockets and having special laws and benefits just for them.

Pretty much. If Sleazy tRump doesn't win it on the first ballot(and he won't), Cruz takes it on the second or at the worst third ballot. Neither Sleazy tRump nor Kasich have had the ground game to work on the delegates, something Ted Cruz has been doing for months. I would refer anyone to Colorado, Indiana over last weekend.

Drudge?
What is that?
Pssssst, Colorado’s method of chosing their delegates has been in place long before the sleazoid from New York decided to run for president. It was not Ted Cruz that made them rules.

If Cruz keeps Trump from the 1237 on the first ballot, than Cruz would have served his purpose for the GOP establishment. They have absolutely zero intention of nominating him and they will cast him aside like yesterday's Sunday Globe.

More likely scenario is that Cruz is mathematically eliminated from the 1237 later this month and then makes a deal with Trump to lock the establishment out of the nomination process. Between the two of them, they will control at least 1800 delegates.

Unless of course, Cruz labors under the delusion that your fantasy scenario might come to pass.

Anti-establishment voters who support either Cruz or Trump cannot ignore the first round delegate count NOR the second round delegate count.

The reality is that Trump has about 750 and Cruz has about 550. That means even on the first ballot Trump still needs 487 and Cruz needs 687 on the first ballot.

On the second ballot that means that Cruz has to BOTH keep his current delegates in line for him and STILL come up with about 487 delegates, assuming he wins another 200 first round delegates between now and Jun 8.

If Trump wins another 200 or so delegates, then he’d have to keep those he has and come up with another 287 between now and June 8.

So, for the 2nd ballot Cruz has to STILL come up with 487 delegates who are honestly, with integrity, pledged only to him on the 2nd ballot WHILE keeping ALL those he already has, and that’s assuming he wins another 200 delegates during the primary.

Whoever you are, you have to admit that this will not be easy.

Kasich’s dreams die when there are 57 (out of 112) Rules Committee delegates that will keep Rule 40(b) in place that only allow Trump and Cruz to be nominated (unless Kasich can win 7 more states).
