Theres a recurring question among the Republicans gathering in Colorado at state and local conventions to choose delegates this week: "Wheres Donald Trump?"
Colorado is a rare state where party officials choose delegates without any input from a primary or caucus vote. The bulk of the states 37 delegates will be picked at a series of congressional district conventions on Friday and a state convention on Saturday in Colorado Springs. Prospective delegates can run as unaffiliated free agents or pledge to back a candidate.
"There just doesnt seem to be any Trump organization at all, to be honest," Dick Wadhams, a former Colorado GOP chairman, told MSNBC. "I do think that Cruz has an advantage going into this convention on Saturday."

I honestly think has surprised himself that he has gotten this far. But now that he realizes he could actually win, we might see a real ground game develop, if it is not too late.

But Reagan had been involved in politics, whereas Trump’s only involvement was to donate monies.
His new hire surely has a clue, but he’s probably back peddeling to catch up. The good news is that Trump realized he needed this man, and he hired him. Good instincts.
Ivanka was the one who caused him to back peddle on the abortion issue. He should have stuck with his gut and maintained a strong pro-life stance.
Good!
he’s gone a week now without any incendiary comments and I bet Ivanka is all over him now.
Good. I really believe she is his consigliere. and a good one
So you think Trump’s a crime boss? LOL
Actually the pro-life stance is that the woman is to be treated as the second victim. Right or wrong that has been their stance all along. Because they are out to eliminate the abortionist, and without them abortions will become obsolete. It kind of takes away the argument that they are against women.
Only as a union leader. After the movies, he was a motivational speaker for GE and changed from a liberal, New Deal Democrat into a conservative Republican. http://historynewsnetwork.org/article/32681 has an interesting article about that time period in his life.
Impossible! Trump’s competence is Amazing. It is incredible. His entire value proposition is that he is a winner who does not get outplayed.
He is a Crony Capitalist. He owes politicians, and they owe him. They both get rich from the public treasury.
Someone should make a list of these thousands of 'Cruz stealth delegates!' articles, just so they can be mocked when it becomes clear that the media and Cruz campaign hype machine didn't live up to its billing.
Sounds exactly like the same nonsense Ron Paul bots used to spew in 2008 and 2012.
Whatever helps you keep the faith, I guess.
If Trump gets to 1273, he might win.
If he gets to 1237, that’s probably not enough. My guess is he needs a few dozen more than 1237.
Why? Faithless delegates bound to him who abstain from voting first round.
Can they do that? It’s open for interpretation.
And who will be doing the interpreting?
Exactly.
I read that if delegates got cute and refrained from voting on the first ballot, the amount of delegates needed for the nomination decreased accordingly. So that plan won’t work.
There is nothing worse in America than a vote thief.
Cruz the vote thief
As he gets closer to the magic number and comes up short I’ll bet he’ll come to regret that decision. But then he’ll claim it was all stolen from him and he’ll sue the pants off whoever the boogie man d’jour will be.
That’s about to change, big time.

Great article.
>The first was the most recent sit down between Trump and RNC Chair, Reince Priebus. While Trump told media it was a great meeting, privately he is said to have left RNC headquarters initially stunned and then increasingly angered over how his campaign operatives were clearly slow to act in protecting the very delegates he as the leading candidate, had won. The business tycoon was being outflanked by a long-corrupted political system and he knew it.
As you know, every other debate was a spectacle aimed at the reality - pop culture TV audience. Every other debate was purposed to raise ratings and revenue for whichever network was the sponsor.
Trump needs to show everyone that he has a detailed grasp of issues he will face when he is President. He needs to show everyone that he is not one-dimensional (Ill sue, its very big, you have a horse face, believe me, big wall, tweet-tweet, tariffs, excuse me, and Im very rich)
Trump needs to go one-on-one with Cruz to show off his over-powering understanding of economics, the bureaucracy, world history, US history, military strategy, current events, foreign policy, his political prowess, his grasp of judicial review, and his knowledge of the US Constitution and federal law.
It should go well for Trump - so why not?? He has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
One on one , Trump will have a chance to make Cruz look like an idiot, everyone will see it, and Trump will waltz to victory.
As an added bonus, hell strike fear in Hillarys heart! Shell get a taste of what she will face in a meaningful debate. During this Cruz debate, Trump can slip in a veiled warning to Hillary, I suggest I havent even started on her yet or something equally frightening.
Trump is so smart... Im sure he knows this already. Hes probably just waiting for the right time to propose a real debate with Cruz (not like these pansy debates weve seen already.)
(Key points highlighted for those who think there's already been "enough" debates.)
