Screw up. Reince. Repeat.
Such is standard operating procedure at the RNC with its attempts to try to organize affairs beyond its control such as the messy unwieldy proposition of a Presidential nominating process. The fumbling bumbling incompetent and witheringly tone deaf Reince Priebus just cant get out of his own way.
The RNC and GOP establishment is much like big government itself in this way, trying to operate outside the constraints of human nature and cause and effect in an attempt to manipulate that which they cannot really ever control from headquarters. Thus the law of unintended consequences almost always yields a result opposite of what was intended. You know, just like failed liberal big government that the RNC is supposedly against.
You would think this irony might dawn on them. It has not.
Their idea was to have Jeb Bush raise a couple hundred million early, then take advantage of his money and name recognition with a front loaded primary and caucus schedule, and have all of this done by mid- March if not February.
No fuss. No muss. Or not.
As the smoke in Wisconsin clears, the two candidates the Washington establishment fear and loathe the most continue to dominate the process. Gone are Washington favorites Jeb, Chris Christie, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and John Kasich is such a phony self-righteous stooge and his absurd and doomed campaign is such a farce that establishment figures have over the past month flirted with Donald Trump and now are trying to get in with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) as well.
This was not the plan. This was so not the plan.
We are on their side of the 50 yard line. As surmised here in Breitbart on Christmas Eve, the base has effectively defeated the establishment ...

Thanks!
I think he’s being overly optimistic if he thinks the establishment has been defeated.
Adding my thanks!

I remember when Rove was considered a ‘magnificent bastard’ on FR.
endorse the Donald and all sin is forgiven.
What’s that they say? “Time wounds all heels”?
Nassim Taleb (the “Black Swan” guy) put it:
“People are not voting for Trump (or Sanders). People are just voting, finally, to destroy the establishment.”
Except that how the “people” vote doesn’t matter.
The “people” don’t chose the candidate. Delegates do. Guess who decides who gets to be a delegate at the convention.
It isn’t the voters. The way the system is set up now is the voters are the product, and the party is the customer.

You might want to add the follow up comments into the poll, the ones following the article.
( The ones that did *not* come from the “Knowledge Panel”, referenced.) LOL!
Who is the Ap-Gfk poll anyway? Sounds like it should be censured.
Based on current rules they have been defeated. Only if Trump or Cruz allow their delegates to change rule 40b will one of the two NOT be the nominee.
Either way the GOPe is going to be kissing Trump or Cruz butt.
The GOPe is free to sow the seeds of its own destruction.
I believe people misread rule 40. Yes, it currently says one has to have the support of the majority of the delegates of 8 states in order to have one’s name put into nomination. That does NOT mean that one has to have won 8 primaries or caucuses. Priebus and the gang know this, media types do not, and the GOPe just allows them to keep repeating the mistake.
The rule was enacted to keep Ron Paul from being nominated on the FIRST round. The GOPe will try to steal this nominating process not by trying to parachute somebody ion the FIRST round. That is nonsensical, can’t happen.
So, Rule 40 (even assuming it survives) simply means in effect that on rounds after round one, to be nominated one must have SECURED the majority of 8 state’s delegates AT THAT MOMENT. In other words, deals are made ahead of time for, say, Ryan hypothetically saying that once delegates become unbound (in whatever round that occurs) they are free to go to anyone in the world. That means that if Ryan (again, hypo only) can convince 8 state majorities that he’s the guy, his name can then be put into nomination. All it requires is 8 state majorities after round 1 to sign the nominating papers. That’s it. People who think that any part of Rule 40 means that the nominee must be Trump or Cruz are wrong.
Helps to read the rules. They can be downloaded at the RNC website.
They are ugly, and loaded with loopholes. Lots of ways to cheat.
I hope folks concerned about cheating start demanding that the rules committee meeting to vote on preliminary rules be televised.
It’s been that kind of a year on here.
C.Edmund Wrong, major tool.
Variable rules are no rules at all and any sane person knows that.
Thanks for the post. Just read the whole thing. The rest of the series of articles on ROVE-STUPID (this is number 17) sound like an interesting read.
