After losing her job as a TV anchor over her Facebook post about a deadly mass shooting in a black neighborhood near Pittsburgh, Wendy Bell was frustrated that those who were offended by what she said had missed her point.
A white mother of five sons who had covered the city for nearly 20 years, Bell felt devastated by the shooting and by the fact some people deemed her attempt to put her anguish into words tone-deaf.
"These are my neighbors, and these are my friends," Bell told The Associated Press last week. "The story is we have a problem: African-Americans being killed by other African-Americans. I know it, and it makes me sick."
Bell's story illustrates the risks that white Americans face when they broach race online: Those discussing it are met with instant reactions and zero tolerance for the imperfect, if not racist, remark. And, for some, it can lead to real-world repercussions.

noticing things makes you racist
That doesn't count.
Blacks commit more crimes, so they do more time. Don’t want to do more time? Don’t commit crimes. And it helps to have fathers in their lives, too. But that would be too patriarchal.
It is too un-PC, but blacks majority neighborhoods have more crimes, drugs, lower income, lower/no education, and obviously not as desirable place to live. Even successful blacks flee those areas.
The price of white privilege. Payback is going to be a b*tch.
If you aren’t black and you breathe, you are a racist!
Actually, the problem would occur when blacks spoke about whites in a way whites considered disparaging. The intent of the speaker is irrelevant. It’s the interpretation of the recipient which matters.
Yeah, that black, female “entertainer” had some really lovely things to say about S. Palin recently. What a lovely, sweet person.
Be careful around the special people. You could lose your livelihood if a special person accuses you of a nano-micro-macro-aggression.
She commented on what she was seeing. That’s not allowed in this day and age.
Anyone that says they are black/asian/white to be proud, they are probably miserable failures in life with nothing to look forward to. They are to be avoided because they bring everybody else around them down to their gutter level.
This isn’t rocket science. The Nazi TV station that fired her has advertisers. Boycott them.
Facts are racist!
Whites are in danger...
Now if she would have been a “white Hispanic” instead of a “white cracker” mother she might have gotten away with it.
You mention something about a neighborhood after certain elements moved in and destroyed it with drugs, graffiti and crime you’d be called out as a racist in no uncertain terms for telling the truth.

Pittsburg is a problem. Antioch was building nice houses like crazy during the housing boom and passes a special property tax to build new schools, etc. It didn’t happen. What happened is the people that spent so much for a nice house in Antioch with extra taxes got living in a neighborhood with section 8 gangs and dangerous, same schools.
