Cruz snaring Trump's Arizona delegates
Washington Examiner ^ | 04/04/16 | David M. Drucker

Sen. Ted Cruz is out-hustling Donald Trump and looks set to ensure many Arizona delegates will defect to him in a convention floor fight.

The Texas senator, who ever since Iowa has played a stealthy ground game in contrast to Trump's chaotic populism, is taking steps to snatch the Republican presidential nomination from The Donald at the convention in July.

The New York businessman easily won last month's Arizona primary taking 47 percent to Cruz's 25 percent, scooping up all 58 of the state's delegates. That's nearly 5 percent of the 1,237 Trump needs for the nomination, and they're tied are to him on the first ballot.

But Cruz, exploiting deep opposition to Trump among grassroots Republicans, has been far more active in Arizona than Trump, insiders say. He's recruiting candidates for the available 55 delegate slots, that along with the other three delegate positions filled by party leaders, would be allowed to vote for him in a multi-ballot contested convention.

No, you’re the problem. So freaking what if you change your voter registration. What exactly does that change? Nothing. Like I said, you want to pretend your doing something but you’re not even willing to push away from the keyboard to do it.

Trump is dead after the first ballot anyway.

But these Slick Teddy moves could however hurt Trump if Cruz ends up with enough supporters to pass critical rule changes before the vote.

They could also conceivably thwart the GOPe effort to parachute in an alternative candidate on a second or third ballot.

Which could potentially lead to a Cruz nomination.

Only trouble with that is that Cruz doesn’t have any better chance to beat Hillary than a GOPe parachutee would.

IMO it is Trump or bust for the GOP—and bust is looking more likely by the day.

So to Ted fans

So I guess Hillary can pull the same s*** in the Electoral College if she needs to

After all they're just delegates too and they have the right to change their vote and not represent the voter that put them there

that's the whole thing about a representative government the people vote delegate or congressman or senator to go represent their interests

but then again this is typical GOPe we kept saying we voted these guys in and then they didn't really represent our interest ...so same old crap

and the weasel that play is kind of games ... you Cruzer love it right up to the time he pulls it on you should he ever get an office ......there's no honor among Thieves... the guy that steals for you will steal from you

he's recruiting people to be unloyal to the people that voted them in on a massive scale.... so what makes you think Ted won't disloyal against you Ted voter interest and want... side with the GOPe in the big money interest when he needs to??? ........He showing his ethics...

The establishment would love for Trump to run third party so Hillary wins over Cruz.

Should the GOPe (Cruz) steal this nomination from Trump I will be tempted to vote a straight D ticket in Nov. And continue voting a straight D ticket until every last one of them is unelected.

They don't have to stab Cruz in the back, he's playing ball with them and I'm sure they have a nice golden chain on both he and his wife by now.

Cruz is their useful idiot, they can put him on the ticket as either Prez or VP knowing full well they're going to lose then get another few decades out of the BS about how anyone who is a "genuine principled Conservative" can't win. If Cruz is anywhere near as smart as he and others claim he is he'd have never brought Neil Bush into his campaign.

Unless, of course, he's been the GOPe designated "outsider" all along to keep the suckers focused on Ted as their great hope rather than supporting someone who would actually rock the boat.

>>> You DO know Trump will run third party then right? ensuring Hillary the nomination?

To quote Hillary, “what difference does it make?” The GOPe has stood up to Trump 10x more forcefully than they ever stood up to Obama. That should tell you everything you need to know. They are merely a foil to the ‘Rats, not a real opposition party. While electing a GOPe to the office may make you feel good, the country is just as dead. I will write in Trump, if necessary...for President and every down-ballot vote.

Well, thwarting the will of the primary voters is the only hope Ted Cruz has. And he certainly has no qualms about trying, or trying most anything for that matter.

So, when Trump makes a deal he is brilliant, but when Cruz outhustles Trump, he is sleazy? Oh, the hypocrisy!

I want the names of the delegates to be made public. I want to know who the people are who say they are for one candidate then easily move to another candidate.

Publish their names!

I hear ya.

The GOPe is proving there is not a dimes worth of difference, between them and the Dims....so, to quote Hellary....what difference does it make?

Like Trump says....we’ve given them the House...(the purse to stop 0bola), and they’ve done nothing with it. We’ve given them the Senate...and they’ve done nothing with it....nothing but give 0 EVERYTHING he’s asked for.

They - the establishment...who cRuz has proved he’s a part of - are ALL in it for the gravy train $$.

Cruz is not stealing a thing. This is how the convention works (and has always worked).

And speaking of ensuring Hillary, read this:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3416210/posts

A contested convention is already a virtual assurance of Hillary, anyhow. In the last 100 years, there has been only one time in 8 where a contested nominee defeated a noncontested nominee. Contested conventions are another way of saying “We’d rather keep our power base intact than win the election.”
