Cruz snaring Trump's Arizona delegates
Washington Examiner ^ | 04/04/16 | David M. Drucker

Sen. Ted Cruz is out-hustling Donald Trump and looks set to ensure many Arizona delegates will defect to him in a convention floor fight.

The Texas senator, who ever since Iowa has played a stealthy ground game in contrast to Trump's chaotic populism, is taking steps to snatch the Republican presidential nomination from The Donald at the convention in July.

The New York businessman easily won last month's Arizona primary taking 47 percent to Cruz's 25 percent, scooping up all 58 of the state's delegates. That's nearly 5 percent of the 1,237 Trump needs for the nomination, and they're tied are to him on the first ballot.

But Cruz, exploiting deep opposition to Trump among grassroots Republicans, has been far more active in Arizona than Trump, insiders say. He's recruiting candidates for the available 55 delegate slots, that along with the other three delegate positions filled by party leaders, would be allowed to vote for him in a multi-ballot contested convention.

It's like an arrest record -it's gonna stick with him for life. Here's the problem, it's like you're speaking for everyone in the world. Yeah, it may stick with him for YOUR life, but since you can't speak for everyone, only in your mind are those things true. You might want to carry the 'Cruz Diddled' torch, if nothing ever comes of this, you'll be just like the 9-11 crowd who's so certain it was an inside job. I don't get people who are so certain they can predict the future - I guess the internet is a caricature of real life.

It’s called “ground game” and Trump doesn’t have it.

Maybe more people need to get educated on how the primaries, caucus’ and delegate system works, before jumping on the “fraud” bandwagon.

Nothing is being stolen. Nothing is being done, that isn’t the historical process. Seems to me, everything Cruz is doing is what a good campaign does. They rally their base. They work the field. They get people to support them. It’s a freakin election. Delegates are elected BY the people, not the campaigns. It’s the candidates job to get the delegates (the people) the support them.

Why is that so hard to understand????

If Donald is such a “deal making genius”, why isn’t he able to make deals to get the delegates he needs?

If Donald surrounds himself with such smart, bright, intelligent people, you’d think they’d be smart, bright and intelligent enough, to figure out how the “election/delegate game” is played. Right?

If Donald is such a “winner”, why is he worried?

Don’t give a crap about what deals are being made, I care what the voters want and the corruption from the establishment.
Look if you like the establishment and are proud to help them get their contested convention then just say so.

Question: If Trump bought all the extra delegates he needed, would you be okay with that?

Comparing party primary machinations to the electoral college is bunk, they are in no way similar in function.

With Cruz the question is not the First Lady, it is the first molested child.

Never mind the text; just look at the clip.

This is why the forces of evil are supporting Cruz: this will allow them to control him.

if nothing ever comes of this,

Like I've already said, it doesn't matter whether it's proven or not proven...this one week story...will be stuck in peoples minds for years and years. (probably 10-15 yr to tell ya the truth) I'll bet grandpa's will be mumblin' about this story and 'that politician Cruz guy' who was diddlin' with eight different women...in 6 months

I don't get people who are so certain they can predict the future

That's irrelevant. It's over. It's all about perception now.

“If Donald is such a “winner”, why is he worried?”

He is beginning to figure out that our political class is utterly depraved, lacking the tiniest scintilla of common decency.

Of course they aren’t similar in the sense that Electoral College electors are much more bound while convention delegates are bound for initial ballot(s) only. What is appropriate for their being mentioned in my post is that the convention delegates are not bound forever and never have been — they are part of a representational process like the electoral college (for executive) the representatives (for legislative branch) and the appointment by elected official (for judiciary). All diffuse processes like the convention delegates.

The post was made in referral to this talk of disenfranchisement which is absurd.

Everyone has been saying win the nomination. Well that is a process culminating in a nominating convention. It is not a national plebiscite governed by a plurality.

So why do we vote?

Why indeed? If this sort of backdoor machinations are going to override your vote... well, I'm sure there are plenty of better things to do on November 8....

But the party primaries are not a representational process, that’s the point. The rules are malleable.

The entire election apparatus is rigged and corrupt from start to finish. If Trump manages to run the gauntlet of corruption, we the people need to freaking DEMAND an end to the political party machinations. The founders of the country warned against the power of political parties, G. Washington in particular warned about this in his Farewell Address.

Amazing how so many Cruz fanbois resort to dirty “debate” tactics just as Cruz does, and like the dirty political chicanery.

Cruz reminds me of Littlefinger from Game Of Thrones. Winning by backstabbing. That is why they all hate Cruz not because he is more conservative than his fellow Senators but that he backstabs them.

So what is it in my first sentence in post 344, which covers the point I am making, which is not correct? In this post you seem to be in agreement that there is no “disenfranchisement”.
