In recent weeks, there has been increasing discussion about the possibility that House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)could emerge out of a brokered convention as the Republican nominee if the donor class is successful in denying Donald Trump the requisite 1,237 delegates.
Just as Paul Ryans ascension to House Speaker represented a total repudiation of the GOP electorate by GOP lawmakers, Ryans selection as the Partys nominee would similarly represent the donor classs silencing of voters and voters views on immigration, trade, and foreign policy that have transformed the country and its role in the world.
Regardless, many in the #NeverTrump movement have indicated that they would support Ryan against the wishes of the Republican electorate that has voted for Trump.
If we dont have a nominee who can win on the first ballot, Im for none of the above, said former House Speaker John Boehner, who exited the House shortly after teaming up with Ryan to give President Obama expanded trade powers. Im for Paul Ryan to be our nominee, Boehner said.
If its an open convention, its very likely [the nominee] would be someone whos not currently running, Ryans fellow Wisconsinite Governor Scott Walker said last week. Walkers declaration follows an earlier pronouncement that he would be just fine with leaving his states Sanctuary Cities in place.

I don't mind duplicate posts. The reason I noted the other thread was to give people a chance to read comments in both locations.
Cruz sure stole Iowa . Had any of us done what Cruz did in Iowa we’d be facing jail time.
That denial is coming from voters in the primaries. They could all vote for Trump if they wanted. The thing is; They DON'T want to.
Yep, they luv their little "Uniparty" Hitlery!!
HA. And Cruz thinks they’re on his team.
NO!
Surely you must be smart enough to know Ted won’t get 90% of the remaining delegates.
Surely you must be smart enough to realize the GOPe will not let Ted have the nomination.
So every vote for Ted, is a vote for...
...the GOPe.
Ted is dead in the water at this point.
David Plouffe has said, Ted Cruz is the candidate the Democrats really want to run against, which explains their not attacking him...
Now it’s becoming a matter of who teams up with Trump first, Cruz or Kasich.
Trump needs 1237, if he can't make that, that is not Ted Cruz's fault.
The Trump supporters here think that Texas A&M should have been declared losers because they were 12 points behind with less than a minute left.
The rules are the rules.
Now waiting for multiple personal insults from Trump supporters.
You are right.

Received an automatic “MALWARE” warning from my virus scan after accessing the original article. Just letting you all know.
He can/will win on second ballot.
And the next week the Democrats will run this this as an AD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dN1IXDrXgV0 and Teddy will crash and burn. I can imagine those SNL routines with Teddy and his lunatic Fringe religious nut friends deciding how Gays will be murdered...
Those in power now are hoping to cause an uprising so Obama can use force and take over via martial law. They prefer that to being exposed for being worse then Benedict Arnold.
Cruz adds Neil Bush to his finance team and gets all of Jeb’s people too. He’s getting the help of Preibus, Ryan, Walker, and the entire GOP establishment in Wisconsin. Yeah, he’s a real outsider insurgent.
1. Do you think Ted can get more than 90% of the remaining delegates?
2. Do you honestly think the GOPe will accept Ted as their standard bearer?
Ted has no path to the nomination now.
He can’t win 1237 delegates.
The GOPe will never support him to be the nominee.
You'll not get one from me.
We will know Cruz's objective once he is mathematically eliminated from the 1,237.
Must watch video. Cruz wanted to double the number of Muslim immigrants.
Is Paul Ryan popular in some circles, other than the establishment?
I don’t get it - why would Ryan be the one chosen to step in?
Vote Trump.
