While stumping for GOP front-runner Donald Trump, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was speaking to a group of mostly establishment conservatives, and she ended up silencing the room after revealing a damning secret about Sen. Ted Cruz’s past that he didn’t want out.
During her speech, the audience remained quite quiet as Palin explained to them the importance of not falling for deception, which they would be doing if the supported Cruz and his weak and opportunistic position on immigration. Evidence of his position, as Palin explained to the crowd, was when he accompanied Glenn Beck in McAllen, Texas to hand out gift baskets to illegals.
Almost immediately, Twitter blew up with mockery of Palin as establishment conservatives circled the wagons to protect their guy. Check out some of the replies:

We remember very vividly the issues when contracts were being let to transport unaccompanied illegal immigrant children across many states by the Obama Administration, and Beck and Cruz were some of the very few to traveled to the border to get first hand information, ....when other Congressmen were even being denied access by Homeland Security to those coming across the border to verify the reports. Cruz and Beck used the humanitarian assistance angle to get in to verify the reports.
You do remember this, right?
It’s one thing to disagree on political positions, but it’s quite another to obfuscate efforts which were being made to defend the US from illegal immigration without being painted as the bad guy. By attacking Cruz on this issue, it simply supports Obama’s Administration to transport foreign populations throughout the US in a fashion to Soviet policies in the 50s and 60s.
There are quite a few issues where Trump would be an obvious choice, but this type of adversarial accusation being formally made by the Trump campaign and worse, those who claim to support Trump at the grass roots level, manifests these blogs are simply a coordinated PR effort to advance an ulterior agenda.
It’s primary reason I have no faith, trust, or confidence in the Trump Campaign. (Even when many of his positions I do support.) It’s obvious, he so desperately advancing an ulterior agenda, that the campaign can’t just build their platform on fundamental conservative values.
This type of faux conservative extremism is the type of behavior which most Democrats invalidly assume conservatives think. Unfortunately, the same type of liberal thinking, when placed in authority, then thinks their fascist positions are justifiable, because in a world of relative morality, they are no more immoral than the tyrants they hated, they just now happen to gain power and use it in the fashion they perceive their enemy conservatives had been promoting. They are a self fulfilling prophecy of unrighteous government.
It’s the type of behavior more representative of the liberal mind, pretending to be conservative, in order to steal political power. The best descriptor I can think of is a “New Yorker mentality”, which come to think about it, is consistent with an off hand remark made by Cruz in one of the first ‘debates’.

Nationally in the past week Trump has a steep trendline that reflects he's stealing from Cruz, Kasich and undecided voters. Wisconsin is an outlier, reflecting millions of dollars of establishment support.
So whatever is happening in Wisconsin ... it's a little like Luke Skywalker saying 'woohooo as long as we get in bed with the dark side the Emperor will paint free racing stripes on our fighter ships!'
How can you argue it's anything different? That Trump, merely to hold his position - which he isn't, because he's surging nationally - is fighting both Cruz and the establishment? And is that something Cruz supporters should be happy about? That to challenge Trump, he needs to sleep with the enemy? Or ... is it simply true that he is the face of the enemy and he is the establishment? What kinds of promises has he had to make? What has he sold already?
Of course I could be wrong - but what other way is there to see it?
She hasn't destroyed my respect. In fact, I support her more for speaking up about Ted Cruz. I used to like Glenn Beck, Levin, and so on. Their level of vitriol is sickening. The GOPe is DEAD to me.
