Unable to pass new gun-control bills this year, months after the state's deadliest shooting, Oregon Democrats are diving into campaign season with promises to try again in 2017.
House Majority Leader Jennifer Williamson, D-Portland, wants to revive a measure that would limit default gun sales when background checks take longer than expected, after the bill earned tepid support and died in the Senate last month.
Advisers for Gov. Kate Brown and Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum huddled with advocates in separate meetings Thursday to hear about executive actions they might take without legislative approval. Brown, up for election this year, had already vowed to "explore" that possibility last month.

I would suggest to any FReeper that if in Nov it appears we are going to get a Dem WH and Senate, buy plenty of guns, ammo, and gun manufacturer stocks. I’d think within a year the 2nd Amendment would be completely “re-interpreted”.

Seriously, it’s time to begin tracking the prices of standard calibers; ammo futures if you will. In my opinion ammo trends will more accurately predict political outcomes this fall than gold, silver, or the DOW.

Three Oregon leaders mentioned are all female Democrats. Not saying I have anything against women, but mostly I have noticed Democrat women make irrational reason based more on emotion rather than any consideration of the facts laid out on a silver platter before them.
IMO it’s not a wonder Oregon has serious leadership problems.
I note here in California our stringent, and ridiculous air quality laws are governed by Democrat women as well, then of course there’s Boxer, Feinstein, and “Moonbeam” might as well be.
Look who’s running the EPA. Another spacey Democrat female.

we will neither invest nor relocate in Oregon. Not even vacation there, we don’t feel at all safe in a place with so many crazies

maybe get a bill into the legislature for firearms use and safety training in public schools (as was very common some years ago)
public schools firearms education programs including target practice and teams.... like 30 yaers ago quite common
make sure the next generation knows what they are, what they’re good for, and how to use them effectively and safely
(and has some fun, too)
Oregon government is also anti-Christian.

That’s not their goal! They want the vast majority of our citizens to not have the ability to defend themselves against them (the government). This has NEVER been about gun safety.
They’re wanting to say it’s the legal gun owners fault; if they didn’t have the guns then the gangs couldn’t steal them.
Remove them by ballot in November, so you won’t have to remove them second amendment style later.
