Police and ambulances rushed to a Greyhound bus station in Richmond, Va. Thursday after reports of an active shooter, according to local media.

Paramedics rushed at least four people to a nearby hospital, WRIC reports. It was unclear whether the shooter was among them.

There is a new underclass, which is growing apace as a result of the 25%+ unemployment of the past decade.

Ridership is nothing like the 1950s, when the bus station in Oklahoma City could dock 20 busses at one time, but the much smaller station in this town comes to life just about every day with a few busloads of financially distressed people.

Yes. It seems as though there is a bus involved in an accident every week. Senior citizens often take them to casinos, or on tours. Church groups use buses, but I think that many of those are owned by their Church. People who don’t have or can’t afford cars take buses, especially in big cities.
