Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski has been arrested and charged with simple battery after surveillance video showed him grabbing journalist Michelle Fields at a campaign event in Florida, police say. More at bnonews.com and on Twitter @bnonews

Fields: “That was insane. You should have felt how hard he grabbed me. That’s insane. I’ve never had anyone do that to me from a campaign.”

Fields: “Yeah, go for it — that was really awful. That’s so unprofessional.”
Terris: “He really just almost threw you down on the ground.”
Fields: “He literally went like this and was grabbing me down. “I don’t even want to do what he just did to me. Oh my God, that really spooked me that someone would do that.”
His denial was in response to her “thrown down” allegation. Had she been more honest about what happened maybe he’d have remembered what she was talking about, then again the incident was so unremarkable he may not have.

Either she did this intentionally hoping to have a serious altercation, like she has before, or she’s just another bimbette reporter, or both. Remember there was the WaPo photographer that just happened to have her and Trump center frame at the moment and the WaPo writer standing next to her.

Yes, weren’t they taking Robert Kennedy through a kitchen when that happened. Why then is this being able to get this far. I’m questioning the SS for letting her get so close to Donald and touching him twice. She could have had a knife or gun?
For the touching to be battery there has to be an intention of harming the person. The only intention by Lewandowski was to clear the space for Trump. Once the space was clear, which took about 1 second the interaction with Fields was over. No malice intended. The only intent was to clear the space and remove the possible threat from a candidate. A battery charge is a stretch and seems to be politically motivated. Fields is a political activist.

Y’know, not everything that is misspoken or inaccurately stated constitutes a lie. CL probably never knew who it was that he so menacingly manhandled. Why do people assume that he should know who she is?

Charges have been brought against him as misdemeanor battery. Will probably result in a small fine and a warning. Perfectly appropriately.
The secret service not seeing her as a security threat is troubling. Think back to Dayton. They allowed the guy who jumped on stage to get right up to Trump. There were some posts that said he moved away because someone in the audience alerted him!
My answer is YES it is the campaign manager's job to keep people getting too close to Trump from reaching him. It's everyone's job.

Any audio? She’s got her phone on in what appears to be an attempted audio recorded interview? This could have picked up not only Corey or SecServ agents directions but perhaps her reaction to the event. Pajama boy in flannel may have been recording as well as the photographers on the opposite side of Trump. PJB was distracting Corey and what I see is Corey forced to intervene with Field’s repeated attempts to pester Trump with questions and intruding on his security circle.
If I were on a jury the prosecution would have a hard time convincing me Corey did anything more than attempt to separate a possible security threat from the candidate he works for. This candidate has had repeated threats on his life and she is getting awfully close to him with a device that could be a weapon.
Trump is wrong for having the Sec Serv around in the first place.
I’m sure they are nothing more than a spy op for the Baraqqi Regime.
If I was The Don, I’d tell them to stay drunk and troll for hookers until taking office, then conduct a massive purge.
