Imagine that a senior Hillary aide--not to mention Hillary herself--were indicted over the email scandal. In a million years, could you imagine John Heilemann asking what such person would have to do to prove his or her innocence? Neither could I. But on today's With All Due Respect, Heilemann asked a Florida criminal defense attorney [not Lewandowski's lawyer]: "What is the legal standard? What does Corey Lewandowski have to prove, to prove his innocence?"
Attorney Whitney Boan politely pointed out that under the Constitution, Lewandowski doesn't have to prove or disprove anything, and that to the contrary the burden is on the State of Florida to prove the charge "beyond a reasonable doubt." Heilemann was appropriately contrite, saying "you're right to call me on having gotten that thing backwards, and thank you for doing that." But the presumption of innocence is ninth-grade civics stuff. That Heilemann would have ever asked such a question in the first place suggests some serious bias.

Legall, yeah. But politically he’s guilty until proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he’s innocent. Primarily because he’s a Trump guy.
There IS video for Lewandowski. So people who are blowing this out of proportion are doing it solely to influence people who won’t bother to actually watch the video. Lewandowski should be exonerated. If that is battery, I’ve been battered almost every time I’m in a crowded restaurant or room.
If Cruz is innocent, why doesn’t he say that and stop accusing Trump of pushing the story? Especially when several sources say Rubio was aggressively pushing the story. He uses his sleazy lawyer skills to avoid denying the allegations. Deflecting. Of course, sleazy Cruz and Kasich are jumping all over this “battery”. They sicken me. I guess if I show up to one of their rallies and get violent and threatening, they are to blame because their rhetoric has driven me to it.
Mark Levin just detailed on his radio that his source (most likely a source secret service) just detailed that Lying, I never touched her, Lewandowski REACHED IN FRONT OF a secret service agent to grab Michelle Fields. That fact is very damning! That secret service agent knew Fields was there and had no problem with that situation. It is his job to access the threat and take action. The thug jackass was just trying to keep the reporter from asking a question. HE IS SO SCREWED. HE HAS NO DEFENSE. THE AGENT BEING THERE TAKES AWAY A PLAUSIBLE DEFENSE THAT HE WAS PROTECTING the carnival barker from a perceived threat.
Heck, he could prove that he was in another state when it supposedly happened, and it wouldn’t matter to the Cruzers or the Hillary lovers.
He is ‘gulty’ of the most violent assault on a helpless woman since “Jack The Ripper”, because:

An assault is putting a person in fear of an immediate battery, an unwanted touching. If Trump didn’t see anything she did, no Crime was committed against him. That’s just the way it is.

His media contract states that he must attempt to disparage conservatives at every possible opportunity. The surprise was how he attempted to save face after being proven wrong, instead of starting a screaming match as is typical of liberals.
You don’t understand how this works.
The prosecution has everything needed to establish the elements of misdemeanor battery under the statute.
If this goes to trial,Lewandowski can raise defense of others. That includes SS agent testimony.
However, it just doesn’t go away based upon your feelings, news reports, etc.
If it disappears before trial, the likely reasons for it are either Fields refusing to testify or Lewandowski cutting a plea to a summary offense instead of a misdemeanor.

Thank you for posting that. It proves my point that Lying “I never touched you” Lewandowski cut into from of the secret service agent to grab Fields. That was a big no-no on his part. It proves his motivation was not for security motives but for political, to stop the report from asking a question. He is screwed.
Cruz did bring out his “work mom” today to scold the naughty reporters for being mean to her precious boy, asking him mean questions that aren’t nice.
Did you know that Michelle Field’s mom is anti-Trump, as are many other of her family members?
Do you know what her mom has done for a living?
