A wealthy businessman with tea party ties confirmed Sunday that he is mounting a primary challenge to House Speaker Paul D. Ryan, saying that after donating to the Wisconsin Republicans past campaigns he feels betrayed by the speaker on trade deals and immigration.
The businessman, who is not yet revealing his identity, promised that his run will shake up the establishment in a profound way, according to a political consultant close to the prospective candidate.
The emergence of a viable Republican challenger in Wisconsins 1st Congressional District is the culmination of a monthslong recruitment effort by tea party activists who say they were double-crossed by Mr. Ryan when he passed a $2 trillion spending package late last year.
Eric Odom, a conservative activist and political consultant in Wisconsin, confirmed with 100 percent certainty that a local business leader would be running to oust Mr. Ryan.

My bet is that it’s Mark Neuman.
The next line is won't get fooled again
The only proper response to the likes of Paul Ryan is to vote them out of office, even if it means next to nobody gets re-elected. If Ryan can get Cantorized, it's the end of his political career. If Ryan doesn't lose in the primary, he needs to lose in November.
The nation is done anyway if the elite steal the nomination. There's no point in rewarding the backstabbers with victories.
Does Neuman live in that district?
Diane Hendricks does.
Does Eric Hovde have a home in the district?
FR should have a compound in Wisconsin just to establish residency for Voters Against Paul Ryan.
Double crossing backstabbing GOPe.
We been f***** so many times; I feel like one of Cruz’s Cubans!
This guy is courageous, buthas an uphill battle simply because incumbents have the edge, especially among the low information crowd, and as Speaker, Paul Ryno has an additional edge because many people like that their district has more influence.
What is it about Ohio - Weepin' Johnny Boehner, Paul Ryno, and Kasich all worthless and all from there?
Neuman used to represent the district.
Let’s stipulate that he is another Ryan. The bottom line is that he will not be speaker.
two independents and a libertarian are running

Donna, could you please post that youtube link of Ryan and bill Clinton speaking without realizing they were being recorded. TIA.
Don’t know if he still lives in the district, but that was Neumann’s old seat for one or two terms. He grew up in Janesville and had his business there.
That’s good! Plenty of other people to vote for in November if Ryan makes it through the August primary!
And remember, the Republican convention is in July! If Ryan plays games, the people can take revenge in August!
Conservative pincer move!!
Neuman used to represent the district.
****
After a search, it does not appear he is running for Paul Ryan’s seat.

Just an FYI, the early voting refers to the presidential primary. The congressional primary is in August.
Mark Neuman’s commonly referenced current residence is Nashotah, in the 5th Congressional District. A lot of wealthy people have more than one residence though.
Another puff piece on Ryan ... the GOPe is propping up their ‘savior’.

Thanks for the FYI on different primaries. Found this: Neumann supports Kasich worked in DC at the same time.

excerpt:
Wisconsin by the end of the week. Rival John Kasich is scheduled to hold a fundraiser and a town hall event in the Milwaukee area this week, and earned the endorsement of former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann.
“He’s ready for the presidency ,” said Neumann, who served in Congress with Kasich in the 1990s. “”He knew the budget backwards, forwards and inside out, and I would be proud to be supporting him for president because he has such great knowledge of the federal budget.”
Well then I hope it’s not Neuman!
Excellent!
