...TRUMP: Totally. I had nothing to do with the campaign had nothing to do with it. Hes got a problem with The National Enquirer. I have no control over The National Enquirer. I had no idea about the story. I just got it last night. I had nothing to do whatsoever with The National Enquirer, neither did the campaign. For him to say I had to do with it, try and put the shoe on the other foot is disgraceful. And by the way, Hes the one that started it. From what I hear, he and his campaign went out and bought the cover shoot. Melania did a cover shoot for GQ a very strong modeling picture. No big deal. But it was a cover shoot for GQ a big magazine. And it was, you know, fine and, if from what I hear, he was the one, or his campaign bought the rights and give it to the super PAC. That super PAC is friendly to Ted Cruz. He started it. I didnt.

I’m something of a Trump supporter, but I have a problem with some of the purported backstory on this. The photographer owns the photo, the model owns her image, the company that paid for the photo acquired rights to use the photo or photos containing her image in a manner defined under contract, and both get paid when it’s used. That’s how it works.
For this photo to have been used in a manner detrimental to Melania Trump, there was a contract violation, of that I’m sure. But, on the other hand, if these photos were viewed as problematic, Donald Trump could have bought out all rights to them and prevented this.
I’m beginning to think someone just pulled it off the internet or scanned a page from the magazine, at this point. Not legal, they’re going to be sued.
This could do exactly what you say, but what would happen if both candidates put aside hostilities for a moment, and while media attention is still trained on them, turned and together denounced the GOPe for their slimeball tactics in trying to deny the will of the people with all these dirty tricks designed to ruin both frontrunners?
If you bothered to read the entire posting, I wrote that I contacted WrightMedia via email (based upon your suggestion yesterday). I am waiting for their reply which if they do, will be next week.
Today, Trump stated that he believed the Cruz campaign got the picture. Now how did he reach that conclusion? Guess...read twitterverse? In any which case I would lend more credence to a Trump statement than a twitterverse post. The reason being Trump has a vested interest and has telephone numbers I don’t have.
Anyway, thanks again for the WrightMedia tip. I wrote them and am awaiting their response. In the meantime I posted this from Breitbart because Trump’s statement (or non-statement) carries more weight than a random tweet.
I hadn’t thought about that but there is a copyright issue
a photo taken by professional photographer of a professional model....
then used by a pac which is also a business financial interest
so none of this is fair use public domain
this is not something you just grab from the internet and modify to tease somebody
so there’s going to be a paper trail... there has to be a paper trail
Trump is talking serious issues, what the Hell are you babbling about.
That could actually be a bold move, though seemingly impossible. In politics all CAN be forgiven, but in this case WILL it be?
and yet you have still not offered up a single shred of evidence to support that claim
It was actually unofficial doctrine ala Atwater that the legalities of such stunts matter a lot less if you win and get to do things like pick judges. By the time it works through the legal system the election is long over.
And don’t think the leftist feminists are going to use this against Trump.
I don’t know.
That is an interesting thought, I must say, it could likely be a game changer.
And that might be very desirable at this point, because right now both candidates are losing.
I’m not sure that can happen though, because there is now a lot of bad blood and mistrust.
It a very interesting thing to watch, and it’s also disheartening to me, because I think right now the GOP has the upper hand.
Actually, they did on Friday -
Her entire career has been spent working against everything Ted Cruz says that he stands for," she added.
The Hill
---
But it was lost in Cruz's bimbo eruption.
Not a good source...it all leads back to twitter. Not verifiable. That is why I am on the hunt to find out if anyone secured the rights to the photo. If Make America Awesome secured the rights then its all in the clear. If the Cruz Campaign secured the rights, then they face some legal troubles...If Liz Maier pulled the pic off the net then she and/or her PAC faces legal consequences. All this to solidify a vote in Utah that Ted was going to win anyway. Crazy...
I already told you I know for 1000% certainty that no one from the Cruz campaign obtained the rights for the picture/shoot from Wright Media. 1000% certainty!
.................................................
Prove it!
Is it possible that someone had a back copy of GQ? It’s not like the photo was hidden. I remember seeing it on newsstands when it was the current issue. But, then again, I’m old.
Gwjack
Yes that would be a better alternative to what has been happening since Friday when this blew up however neither man thinks at this point he needs the other. Pride goeth before the fall.
Pitiful. Not a sliver of evidence. Just ‘errr, uhhh, if Trump’s allegations are correct’.
You are just another clueless Trumpkin peddling bologna.
Even if Cruz WAS responsible, who gives a crap? She was a model. She got naked. The world has seen it before. And Trump had no problem with her nudity before, he married her in spite of it, is openly unashamed of it, but only now, running for office, he’s pissed off? Why don’t you sit back and honestly ponder that for a while....
He instructed everybody to google Heidi. That is NOT ‘ending’ the BS.
You’re right, it’s doing neither any favors and the GOPe does have the upper hand. It’s gone from knife-fight in a phone booth to s*** slinging in an outhouse!
