“They’re not an existential threat to us,” President Obama said, defending his indifference to the latest ISIS terrorist attack in Europe.
“Groups like can’t destroy us, they can’t defeat us. They don’t produce anything,” he said. (Well, they are producing oil and bombs and fresh new terrorists, but never mind.)
So what should the U.S. do to fight this non-existential threat that doesn’t produce anything?
Let’s put on a show!
The day after the attacks in Brussels, the State Department posted a $1.5 million grant proposal to develop “a television drama series that addresses the issue of countering violent extremism among young people in contemporary Afghan society.”
The rest of the proposal reads as follows:
“This grant will fund the development and broadcast of a television drama series in which young people grapple with everyday frustrations and lack of opportunity, while growing and learning through new experiences. The drama will also contain compelling creative content (i.e. storytelling, resonant narratives, strong characters, sophisticated production, etc.). In short, it will strive to be entertaining while challenging viewers to engage in critical thinking by placing characters in situations where they are faced with a choice: support universal values of tolerance and peace or be drawn into the dark world of extremism. The characters will be aspirational and will provide positive role models for young people facing similar dilemmas. The program will be amplified through social media and other means.”
Yeah, that should do it.
The same day the State Department decided to get into the soap opera business, Clinton told foreign policy experts at Stanford University that beating ISIS “means waging online battles with extremists. To discredit their ideology, expose their lies and counter their appeals to potential recruits in the West and around the world.”
Take that #ISIS.

To be fair, Hillary Clinton does have a three-part plan to defeat ISIS, which her campaign announced last fall:
Step 1) Defeat Isis in Syria & Iraq
Step 2) Disrupt & dismantle terrorist infrastructure
Step 3) Harden our defenses
So Hillary’s plan to defeat ISIS is to, first, defeat ISIS. It’s like Steve Martin’s advice on how to become a millionaire and not pay taxes. “First … get a million dollars.”
Is it any wonder that, after seeing these sorts of comments from top Democrats, ISIS feels emboldened to launch ever-more-brazen attacks against the West?
It is the weapon that the American media and elite are used to using against the American people. They are comfortable with it. They have been doing it for 40 years.
Love the irony of Obama talking of someone being incapable of destruction because they don’t produce anything.
Obama hasn’t produced anything of value in his entire life, so far as I can tell, yet he’s well on the way to destroying the most successful country in the history of civilization.

I guess the old Soap Operas initiative is worth a try.
On a brighter note, the one thing that the Obama Administration seems to be really good at is the manufacturing and producing of Soap Operas so this initiative does play well to one of the few core competencies that this administration seems to have in its skill set.
Team Obama seems to excel at the production of soap operas of the tragicomedy genre so it certainly meshes well with the rest Team Obama’s approach to Anti Terrorism and fits in perfectly aligned with Obama’s strategy to deal with ISIS and war on terror
I'd like to see Al Franken and Barney Frank sent over there to fight against ISIS. They'd do a splendid job. They'd attack walking backwards!

Obama should be proud of his achievement, he put in place the 2 worst Secretaries of State in US history.
