The National Enquirer published a story this week accusing Texas Senator Ted Cruz of multiple extramarital affairs.
.....
It was discovered that weeks ago a large number of Marco Rubio operatives and supporters were trying to bring the sex scandal story to the MSM attention.
Under the open guise of #TheThing they were communicating via various twitter feeds and following along to see if the story had been picked up. Most of the activity was centered around March 10th March 15th.
Yesterday the hashtag CruzSexScandal went viral. Today, many of those DC operatives, participants, supporters, consultants, Super-PACs and campaign advisors have spent a great deal of time deleting their (The Thing) participation. The peak of their scrubbing coincided with Senator Ted Cruz accusing Donald Trump of planting the story.
......
Virtually everyone in the blog-o-sphere who supported Marco Rubio was active, tweeting, re-tweeting, or following the events related to #TheThing. Now theyre running for cover and trying to hide their fingerprints.
Anti-Trump Republican operative Rick Wilson tweeted this out weeks ago. (He has since deleted it.)

Your post was about how Cruz blamed trump to buy some time. Agreed and a question remains if he knew about this weeks in advance ( see article on sidebar) does that mean he was in on the revelation or was he blackmailed and had to watch it play out?
His gang of 8 has ruined his career.
Holy crap.
Reading your post, I’m starting to suspect.
I always thought that it was a little odd how so much of Cruz’s words came verbatim from some of his more crazed followers on FR weeks before he said them.
And now this story comes out, and before I can even figure out what happened, the usual suspects are screaming that it’s all Trump’s fault that this story broke. And right after that, Cruz blames Trump for it.
...you think that this is campaign ops? It’s just too much of a coincidence for me to accept as a coincidence.
“That was so bazaar...”
Bizarre.
A bazaar is a middle eastern market.
Thank-you Onyx!
Well, isnt religious belief a private matter anyhow? Or, a least it should be between a man and God.
***
Maybe it should be, or maybe not. But Cruz campaigned as a super-Christian. And now this comes out about him?
Trump has forfeited apologies from any of the candidates. BIG TIME.
BTTT.
Yes, that convincing part stood out to me early on, prior to Iowa.
Christians don’t have to profess their faith.
Carson is a Christian. I don’t recal him or his team pointing that out all the time. Perhaps I forget now.
The folks here were selling it, and I am absolutely sure some of them were connected.
That left me thinking he wasn’t what he said he was.
Using your faith for political gain is verboten.
It just isn’t something you do. You conduct yourself as a Christian and people will figure it out real quick.
Well, they figured this out real quick too. Look at how he was rejected across the South.
I agree, that was a YUGE eeeewwww factor when I first heard it. Like who ever suggested he wanted to copulate with Mr. Trump in the first place? Why in the world did he choose to go there? Total train wreck ahead I’m guessing.
Interesting theory. Could the releasing of the story through the National Enquirer been an attempt by the GOPe/TeamCruz to discredit a story that they knew was hanging over their heads and would have to be dealt with? They knew it would get released eventually so if they released it themselves, they could do it in a way where they could control the narrative and, by discrediting the story, put it behind them?
One thing is clear. Whether it’s true or not, everyone in the know, knew about this story for months.
Ping*
Yeah, you hit a point there.
Yeah. Check out #trumplovespecker on Twitter. All started by so-called ‘devout Christians’.
“Let’s see where this goes before anyone starts demanding apologies from anyone.”
If the National Enquirer had printed the same story about you, would you immediately take to the airwaves and start blaming Trump for it?
It’s just nuts. Trump had nothing whatsoever to do with this, so yeah, Ted owes him an apology. He was way too quick on the draw with that accusation.
Just this evening Mark Levin was saying you don’t have to be a detective to figure out who is behind this based upon who it benefits, then he concluded it benefits Trump, so Trump is behind it.
Well, Mark, you don’t need to be a detective, and you also don’t need to be Ted Cruz sycophant either.
This mess doesn’t benefit Trump or Cruz, it benefits the GOP, OBVIOUSLY, and you are smart enough to know that, Mark, but apparently not honest enough to say it.
The GOP is trying to drop both these birds with the same stone.
Well, yeah, It’s how you live your life. True for all faiths as well.
This is how they attempt to take out Cruz along with Trump. Won’t work
Levin... Is making a fool of himself
“Total train wreck ahead Im guessing.”
From the earlier article it explained how one of Trump’s advisors is known as a “Rat F’er” (political dirty trickster). So I’m guessing that Cruz was trying to keep from swearing, but it sounds REALLY weird. He should have just stuck with the foul language. “Trump may be a rat, but I’m not going to F with him”.
