A pair of new polls are showing good news for presidential hopeful Ted Cruz.
In a new Fox News poll of 388 likely GOP primary voters, frontrunner Donald Trump and Texas Senator Ted Cruz are now in a statistical dead heat nationally. The poll shows Trump and Cruz polling at 41%-38% respectively, a slight edge for the real estate mogul, but within the poll's +/- 5 point margin of error. Governor John Kasich is running in third place with 17%.
A second poll, this one from Emerson College, is spelling good news for Ted Cruz in the April 5th, winner-take-all Wisconsin primary and in a hypothetical match-up against Hillary Clinton in the general election. Emerson College reports:
Ted Cruz is not only leading Trump 36% to 35% in the upcoming primary, but Cruz is only trailing Hillary Clinton by one point in a hypothetical general election matchup, 46% to 45%. In contrast, Trump is trailing both Clinton and her Democratic rival, Bernie Sanders, by the same 9-point margin of 47% to 38% in a potential general election match-up.
The Emerson College poll also shows Ohio Governor John Kasich rounds out the GOP field with 19% of the vote.
The news could be an indication that anti-Trump Republicans are beginning to consolidate around the Texas Senator.
Even if Cruz wanted to claim that he didn't know, the gigs up. That ad ran through the election, was all over the blogosphere and he didn't know?,
As Trump would say, "Give me a break!".
Oh and the ad did say that if you didn’t want the harlot, vote for Ted Cruz.
Has his name on it, asking for votes. If he didn’t know he’s just as guilty because he’s letting people put ads out with his name and knows nothing?
He fired his campaign mgr for dirty tricks but its obvious who’s behind them.
Not so fast.
The ad was run for a long period of time? I thought it was a cheap 10k internet buy by a very poorly funded PAC.
But if what you say is true, that it ran "through" the Utah campaign period, then why didn't Trump know about it, until he finally tweeted about it??
I said it ran through the election and it did. It didn’t run in major markets because Ted likes to do things under the radar.
But I heard about this ad a week before the election because it went viral So don’t your think he’d get a whiff of his campaign using a semi-nude photo of the frontrunner’s wife.
Stop defending him on this, it says “Or vote for Ted Cruz”. Not like it was a subtle reference to his campaign. It was horrible and it was Cruz.
What he’s doing now with his fake outrage is again riding the free media train with Trump. I blame Trump for not seeing through it.
I would have complained about it ASAP, if I was both Cruz and Trump.
So how come Trump waited?
fox poll is an outlier (surprise, surprise!)
rcp poll average has trump ahead of cruz by nearly 13 points:
I agree.
I think Cruz tweeted “Real men don’t attack women. Your wife is lovely, and Heidi is the love of my life.”
I suppose the Trump supporters here will say that Ted’s “soft answer” proves he’s a “pu$$y”. ‘Cause real men can never admit they are wrong, always put women into their place by calling them ugly, and never ask God to forgive anything because “real men” don’t need no steenkin’ forgiveness. Real men brag about how many married women they’ve slept with and say that the military WILL obey unlawful orders if they’re President... And real men know the only thing wrong with Congress’ sleazy backroom deals is that they weren’t negotiated well enough. Buying off politicians is standard procedure for “real men” businessmen and a real man isn’t interested in changing any of that - and would never call out liars on the Senate floor.
I could live with either Cruz or Trump; they both have strengths and weaknesses. But there’s a lot of crap being spouted and a lot of “conservatives” are swallowing it hook, line, and sinker. This primary season makes 2-year-olds look wise and winsome by comparison. It’s one thing to say the uncomfortable, politically-incorrect things that need to be said - and to their credit, both Trump and Cruz have done that, as did Ben Carson. It’s another thing to just act like stupid, spoiled brats who think personal digs are more important than the serious issues the country faces.
We can’t afford to nominate a clown who is easily distracted by this tripe - even if his supporters eat it up with blood-thirsty glee. After 7 years of a narcissist hell-bent on destroying this nation, we need a grown-up in charge. And we need somebody who really can “unite the clans” to fight for our survival, like William Wallace in “Braveheart”. Every piece of hatred spewed in this primary is one more obstacle to patriots winning. We have GOT to fight as a team, and this scorched-earth campaigning is destroying any chances we might have had to actually get our country back.
Sad.
That's not a very good track record. You'll think it is, though.
Weak is no way to go through life.
Cruz attacked Trump first.
Just saying.
Any due date on that bubble you live in popping?
Cruz attacked Trump first.
When? What and Where?
More and more people are catching on. In fact, just yesterday hubby talked with a friend who USED to like Trump a lot, and now she does NOT.
Voters don’t like to see bullies, like Trump, pick on women, and voters don’t like phonies, like Donald Trump.
Federal election law states that the candidate and the PAC cannot have any connection. Even if that pac is supporting the candidate.
It has always been that way, it is illegal. A federal violation.
Read the rules yourself, and get friggin educated.
Then don’t vote for him.
