When the Ford Motor Co. decided to move jobs south to Mexico so that it could pay its workers less, billionaire businessman Donald Trump was furious. He made trade inequalities and Fords betrayal of American workers a central issue of his campaign.
And, without his even being in the Oval Office, it worked.
In an interview with CNBC, Ford CEO Mark Fields said that the automaker would be here to stay. He also said he had outlined his companys plans in a letter to Trump.

Exactly. The President should not be making individual management decisions for private businesses. Just create an environment in which businesses can thrive and let them do so. Once you start telling them how to run their business because you need them to pick up your economic slack, you are in effect admitting that your policies are a failure.

They’re destined for many places. Certainly many go to the US, but keep in mind Mexico also has two coasts, and less land in-between them, it’s a good place to export from. And there are actually people buying cars in Mexico, there’s drug cartels, there are actually people with money.

Trump doesnt put the blame on the companies. Maybe he doesn't put the blame on the companies, but he threatens them if they don't behave the way he wants. I don't know what the specific threat was in this case, but he has threatened 45% tariffs on certain items.
Now, what is the form of government where the means of production stay in private hands, but they have to do what the government orders them to do?

We might disagree about an elected official criticizing a company, maybe not. Might be more incident specific. I wasn't thinking Obama, his criticism of the banking and health care industries have been far over the top, all the better to bring them into the government fold in pursuit of a true fascist state. Since that term is thrown around so much. Private companies, dictated to by government regulation.
Is it possible the President of an American corporation played a Presidential candidate here?

While he didnt offer specifics about whether Ford would be rolling back its $2.5 billion expansion of the companys operations in Mexico, it was clear that Fields was committed to addressing Trumps complaints directly. Not really, no. As recently as yesterday Fields repeated that Ford would continue to make investments in facilities overseas. All he did was refute Trump's claim that Ford was leaving the U.S. They are not.

Now, what is the form of government where the means of production stay in private hands, but they have to do what the government orders them to do? Clintionism? ObamaPelosiReedism? There are more prominent candidates, but naming the prominent fascists of the last century we get involved in the evils perpetrated by fascism, which like the evils perpetrated by communism, are born form centralized control.

Too bad he couldn’t help with Carrier. The video of the employees was truly heartbreaking. We need a leader who says no more immigration, H1B’s etc. Let’s take care of our own first.

See how that works. China is already whining, Mexico is using the “F” bomb and Ford is re-thinking its business plan. LOL!

I found the quote:
Trump to Ford, If you build that plant in Mexico, Im going to charge you 35 percent on every car, truck part that you send into our country, he said. Every single one. So, either the company toes the government line, or the base price for a F150 is going from $26,430 to $35,500.
How is this good news?
