This week’s horrific terrorist attacks on the Brussels airport and metro raised the pressure in the already tight U.S. presidential campaign. Candidates of both parties were instantly measured against voter expectations of how a president could and should behave in a similar crisis. Meanwhile, it was jarring to see a beaming President Obama relaxing at a Cuban baseball game, while grisly photos of the wrecked terminal and dazed, bloodied victims in Belgium were on steady media feed all over the world.

Obama (pictured dancing the tango in Buenos Aires as wife Michelle dances behind him, right) has appealed for calm in the wake of the attacks in Brussels, saying that by reacting with fear other politicians are playing into the terrorists' hands

Neither Sanders nor Martin O’Malley ever went after Hillary’s disastrous record as Secretary of State with the tenacity that they should have—a failure of strategy that has proved costly in the long run.

Sing it Camille!

Her best line is at the end,
“Hillary as Norma Desmond, Mommie Dearest and the Wicked Witch of the West. “

Why Camille would support Sanders, I do not know. Nor have I ever understood some other things about her. But she is one of the smartest women out there; and has long been the ultimate disposer of feminist poseurs.

A worthwhile posting. Thank you.

Bernie Sanders (whom I support and contribute to)...

Demonstrating herself as a nincompoop immediately cuts into whatever acumen the article possesses.

Ted Cruz, the last one still standing, is bombastic, sanctimonious and coldly sharkish behind that forced smile. Is Cruz a truly convincing model of Christian values of charity, compassion and humility? Jimmy Carter did it way better than this. Cruz seems consumed by a vainglorious conviction of his own destiny, tied to an apocalyptic view of history. He reminds me of glad-handing televangelists like Jimmy Swaggart and Jim Bakker, who were loved and trusted by so many but whose careers ended in disgrace.

Yes it is accurate, but anybody can see that Cruz is an inch thick religiously and a mile wide in hypocrisy.

Interesting observations by an honest left winger. Who would have thought?

This is a great read, but I noticed she leaves out any discussion on why she supports Sanders. She does nail the other candidates though.

I have noticed since her AIPAC speech, Hillary is using her grandmotherly voice. Apparently, the focus groups didn’t like her screeching voice.

Trouble is, her grandmotherly voice comes across as condescending monotone.

I

will

talk

slower so that

you

stupid voters

can understand

what

I am saying

to you.

Well she’s got Cruz’s number. As do many of us.

“We’ll be sadistically trapped in an endless film noir, with Trump as Citizen Kane, Don Corleone and Scarface and Hillary as Norma Desmond, Mommie Dearest and the Wicked Witch of the West.”

Amazing that so many on this forum think she's intelligent.

Sophisticated, yes.

Not intelligent.

Says cutting things about people that are amusing to the junior-high-school bitchy girl in everyone.

Would laugh and dismiss the core beliefs of 99 percent of the rock-solid, basic, hardworking cops/engineers/working stiffs/health care workers/good guys and gals in this country.

She has utter contempt for conservatives and Christians, but loves Sanders and his chic atheist Socialist ways enough to contribute to him.

Were Sanders' Socialists to gain power, she and her flaky friends would be the first rounded up for the death camps.

Amazing that people think she is smart and cool.

This coming from a liberal, feminist, democrat, lesbian, progressive is unique.

I’m enjoying this election season.
