Mazin has seriously kicked it up a notch since Cruz launched his presidential campaign in March 2015 and has been one of his most vocal critics. There are personal shots from their time together 25 years ago, but he also weighs in on Cruz’s positions as they relate to the presidential campaign.
The hatred clearly runs deep.
“I would rather have anybody else be the president of the United States,” Mazin told the Daily Beast in 2013. “Anyone. I would rather pick somebody from the phone book.”
He’s also called Cruz “a nightmare of a human being.”
“I have plenty of problems with his politics, but truthfully his personality is so awful that 99 percent of why I hate him is just his personality,” Mazin said on the Scriptnotes podcast in October 2013. “If he agreed with me on every issue, I would hate him only one percent less.”
Mazin isn’t alone in his dislike of Cruz, as Donald Trump has called him a “nasty guy” while saying “nobody gets along with Ted.

Because, in a Presidential election, political positions aren’t really important. Personality is.
Perhaps if Cruz would start calling people dummies and liars, people would like him more?
Most normal people don’t still talk about college like he just left last year and not 25 years ago. Cruz is the one that talks college and debates he had in college. To me it’s weird like you have nothing to be proud of since college. So since Cruz talks college all the time, I think the roommate is fair game.
Trump gets along quite well with Jeff Epstein, Bill and Hillary Clinton, George Soros, Charlie Rangel, Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Al Sharpton and on and on and on.
In fact is there anyone on the left Trump doesn’t get along with?
Seems Trump and his good buddy Soros have supported the same people.

"It's not the first time Trump has taken a pro-LGBT stance. As far back as 2000, Trump was advocating the idea of amending the 1964 Civil Rights Act to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation - something the currently-pending Equality Act would basically do if lawmakers on Capitol Hill ever decided to pass it.
"Amending the Civil Rights Act would grant the same protection to gay people that we give to other Americans - it’s only fair," Trump told The Advocate in February, 2000.
In the same interview, Trump said he favored "a very strong domestic-partnership law" that guaranteed same-sex couples equal legal rights as married, heterosexual couples.

Mazin statistically comes from a hardline tradition of collectivism and destruction of the pluralist host culture from his parents and grandparents via Eastern Europe

A Trump supporter here... there’s something wrong with this roommate. I haven’t read anything he says because it’s totally irrelevant and I don’t want to waste my time. Last election someone brought up something Romney had done in high school. Sheesh! Focus on current issues.

The real Ted Cruz has been a tough solid hard-nosed conservative from the get-go. Trump has been all over the road with his political views. He says whatever he needs to say at any given time depending on who he's trying to suck up to at the moment, be it Marxist Bill de Blasio, Obama, or KGB Putin.
