Trump on Brussels: Told you so. Cruz joins front-runner in focusing on Muslims in America

When the world awoke to news of terrorist attacks in Brussels, the only two remaining Republican presidential candidates with any chance of winning the nomination outright responded by stoking public fear and calling for action against Muslims.

Donald Trump didn’t wait to consult with the foreign-policy advisors he announced less than 24 hours earlier, instead dialing into the morning shows to condemn the attacks that, he said, serve as further rationale for some of his most controversial ideas, from closing America’s borders to allowing the greater use torture in the war on terrorists.

[snip]Not to be outdone, Ted Cruz, called for limiting the flow of refugees “from countries with a significant al Qaida or ISIS presence” and for heightened patrols of Muslim communities in the United States. "We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized,” he said in a statement.

He didn’t learn before he was 70? Sorry, to me it’s evident he is saying stuff just to get attention. Trusting someone who has proven grossly untrustworthy is very foolish.

I don’t trust Trump (based on his history and lack of character) and prefer Cruz. I think Cruz understands the reality the islam but doesn’t want to go public.

But I wish he would. Now is not the time to be PC, Cruz. Your lack of blunt engagement has cost you the nomination.

People are sick of nuance. People are sick of PC.

Kasich reminds me of company picnics, cool lemonade and warm summer nights at the state fair surrounded by family. I’m convinced he secretly lives in the Disneyland exhibit, “It’s a Small World.” A good man, and by all accounts a good governor, but the presidency would break his heart.

Bernie’d be the president most likely to run screaming naked across the White House lawn.
