Donald Trump continues to be the top choice of Republican voters in the race for their party's nomination, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.
The poll finds little appetite for replacing the delegate leader and front-runner with another candidate at the convention or through a third-party run, but most of those opposed to Trump's candidacy continue to pine for another option.

“these polls come from the same sources picking the primaries pretty well.”
They are hypothetical polls the primary polls are not. There are a lot of dynamic factors that always occur before a hypothetical poll scenario actually takes place.
To give you an example, in March 1980 Trump was something like 15 points behind Carter in a hypothetical poll...as we all know Reagan won.
Trump is going to win the general with 54-55 percent of the vote.
That does make me feel a LOT better.
Reagan was down by like 30 points at one point and Cruz AND Trump were down by almost the same against Hillary once.
Yea we all believe a crook who should be in jail would beat Trump and a communist would beat Trump worse. Keep dreaming.
Heads up, leave 1950, it’s gone.
we are up against the black, Hispanic, Asian, Jewish, white college grad under 30, and single white female under 50 groups.
but that’s all /s
We NEED to persuade a LOT of people.
or stick your heads in the ground and say the slogans that worked for you so well in 2012 “nobody I know is voting for Obama” “everyone I know HATES him” “his rallies are empty”
hopefully the 30 and 40 something republican conservatives will realize it’s a new world and know it’s going to be a HARD fight.
Some people are past reaching and are a liability to the race.
white male vote will have to be about 80/20 for Trump in order for him to win.
these polls come from the same sources picking the primaries pretty well.
but November is a long ways away.
shoot away with the name calling :)
And yet we have other polls that come up with this about Republicans: "74% of those polled refuse to support Ted Cruz and a full 80% of those polled refuse to support John Kasich."
No need to call names - just point out chinks that belie your confidence in Cruz as our next redeemer. He got lots of my money early on - I just sent Trump $100 a few minutes ago...
