Kasich -- who has thus far won just a single primary contest in his home state of Ohio was adamant that Trump will come up short in the delegate count prior to the July national convention in Cleveland. Kasich predicted he will eventually garner the nomination in an open convention on the basis of his broad government experience and electability in a general election against Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton.
I think when they take a look at my record, both in Washington and Ohio with the job growth, the wage growth, reforming the Pentagon, and can understand I have the cross-over appeal, I think I will be picked, Kasich said during an appearance on CBS News Face the Nation. So, I dont think anybody is going to get there with the delegates that they need to win.

Cruz did himself some REAL damage with the remarks about Trump’s remarks being responsible for these PAID protesters!!!
The powers that be will have proven that our votes don't matter.
It’s worse than you think. Kasich is not delusional. He really could win the nomination - if it gets into the hands of the party insiders. That’s why my vote will be chosen to give the nomination to a viable and potentially acceptable first-round winner (Trump) rather than to support my top choice (Cruz).
Watch her husband in Arizona and you will feel oh, so much, better. Saaaarcaaaasaaam
It did me. I had been a Cruz supporter, but okay with Trump UNTIL that point. Pushed the button for Trump a few days later.
Cruz VIOLATED one of my life principles.
Those "protesters" WERE THE CAUSE of the problem. Don't absolve them and then point the finger at someone else.
To me, it looks like every other liberal agenda ever seen.
By hook or by crook
I will NEVER vote for Johnny
Well said.
Selects the guy who's third in the delegate count as their nominee.
This would be an excellent 'Scumbag Steve' meme. Paste in Kasich's head and it would be perfect.
Nope because with the wimpy DC political class doing whatever the dems tell them to do a Kadich presidency would look just like a Clinton presidency
I will NEVER vote for Kohnny
Oh you are insane too. If the criteria is who is electable then just go vote democrat. Reagan was behind Carter by double digits at this point and the political clas were having a massive coronary
You can't be a moron if you're dead. Let them get a little smarter and maybe they'll qualify.
Says the guy who has won ONE state.
Sort of like the guy who lost to the guy Obama beat in 2008.
Sort of like the guy who lost in 2012 and thinks the convention would turn to him in desperation.

For all of those pundits, commentators, newsies, consultants who talk in negatives language, Kasich may not be the most unpopular, but so far, he has 2,725,358 primary votes or 13.37%. That means, according to those who talk in negatives, that 86.63% have voted against him.
Send some protesters to Kaisch rally. Last week he started shouting at old woman who asked him one question.
The thought of Kasich stealing the nomination makes me want to vomit. There is no way I am voting for the RINO designated loser this year whose policies would mirror Hillary's anyway. The fact that GOP power brokers think they know what is good for us shows that they are no different that the overseers on the Dem plantation. The GOP fooled us for a long time into believing they were an opposition party. Those days are past.
Trump represents an existential threat to the operation of the uni-party, the twin principles being the maintenance of the welfare/warfare state.
Hillary promises the continuance of existing US policy with respect to war, immigration, cultural change, etc, which is why the GOPe views her as a better than Trump.
From their perspective, it's worth destroying the party (in the short-term), rather than have Trump forever alter their position & influence.
Ah, the old GOP strategy of planning to win without GOP voters.
Or as Jeb Bush said it, losing the primary to win the general. We all thought he was an idiot for making that statement but look where we are now, every day there's another headline suggesting this approach.
The only question I have is if the party prefers a candidate that can't win a primary with actual GOP voters and their hope every election is to win the general by getting non-GOP voters, why is there a GOP at all?
I can picture “those that be” working overtime to give it to Kasich. Cruz seems to be oblivious that any deals he can make will be broken because they fear him almost as much as they fear Trump. He’s helping to throw the General by aiding and abetting those who want to do the deal behind our backs - they will betray him as quickly as they betray the People. They’d rather Hillary get it if the only choices on our side are Trump or Cruz.
Correct. That’s the aim of both Cruz and Kasich who believe they will win at the convention.
