Confab ahead of AIPAC speech meant to improve relationship with congressional GOP.
Donald Trump will host a group of nearly two dozen influential Republicans on Monday afternoon for an off-the-record gathering that his allies hope will improve his relationship with the congressional GOP and the party’s Washington establishment, according to two attendees.
The meeting is Trump’s first major meeting with lawmakers and key Republican figures since last fall, when he met with a smaller group at the Capitol after his speech at a protest against the Iranian nuclear agreement.
Several members of the House and Senate are expected to participate, plus a bevy of consultants and veteran power brokers, the attendees said, requesting anonymity to discuss the session.

Trump has said time and again that he is self-financing (With the help of free advertising from the msm, which will turn on him). He has stated that all the other candidates are “bought”.
But, if in the general he takes large donations...will that mean he is a slave to the donors?

You made the original post to me - not the other way around. Look at your own childlike post, which will be the last one I respond to. I am around many people. They feel Cruz is a liar and a phony. His actions throughout the campaign has been deplorable. Also, they say he is untrustworthy.
It’s Trump’s *nomination* all the insiders, influence peddlers, the well connected and those with bad intent are trying to stop. This isn’t complex. Nomination is what’s it’s all about.
Once he gets the nomination, and I think he will, anyone can donate or not donate. Key word here is “nomination”.
Cruz blamed Trump for the PAID AGITATORS, which has NOTHING at all to do with the facts; Teddy is just repeating RINO memems. That says it all.

I have read that there would be three votes at the convention before the Pubs took charge and put up a candidate of their choice. I don’t think that will happen.

Seriously, maybe by meeting with them he will dispel some of their doubts. Carson & Giuliani have indicated that he is a different person in private, much more thoughtful and humble, and much less boisterous and aggressive. It could have the effect of dissipating the desire for a third party run by some establishment RINO.
