Leadership influences the thinking of people.

Obama, in his desire to promote antichristian thinking, actions, and policies, is an abomination to righteous thinking. His influence will promote evil and distract from God’s Plan for millions.

Nationally, he has created more hurdles to responsible behavior throughout our society than perhaps any other single leader in the last century. It’s also been due to his volition, not ours. He’s responsible and will be held accountable in the future.

Can’t argue with that logic. Still I’m optimistic that we will prevail.

Good article. The only way to fix our country is to fix our individual selves, focus on our families and our communities. . Do the right thing, Ten Commandments, . . All Politics is Local. . Bears repeating from the article:

"Why is China often called the “world’s oldest civilization”? It has seen governments come and go, endured tyranny, disease and starvation, but certain things have remained: the Chinese people, language and culture. China truly is a nation, meaning, an extension of the tribe, which itself is an extension of the family (hence, there’s no such thing as a “nation of immigrants” — unless they’re all from the same country). We’re now the opposite, a federation of competing sub-cultures — some imported, some domestically made — not all of which are trying to coexist within the same borders."

There you have it: Borders, Language and Culture.

"Was John Adams a fool when warning in 1798, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”? We are now the "other."

We have a lot of work to do. Do your best. .

I could see the South and the Mid West breaking off and forming a very viable and productive Judea -Christian based county. Secession is the answer.

Yes, state imposed compassion has not helped the country.

We need clergy and lay evangelists, and they have to keep their mission clear. [snip] And they need to be walking the gospel, not just talking the gospel.

Well put. In addition, we should be fruitful and multiply, and focus not on achieving wealth and greatness in this world, but rather on raising good, holy men and women.

I concur that belief in Christ is not a prerequisite for national service.
I also believe God has established institutions for humans by His grace, which both believer and unbeliever can share in His blessings, provided they respect legitimate authority.

Those established institutions include volition, marriage, family, and nations.

When man violates the proper legitimate authority within those institutions, he loses the blessings and may cause the loss of blessings for others, hence the justification for social laws.

National leaders need to respect the legitimate authority of those institutions, if we as a nation hope to continue to receive their blessings.

Unbelievers can respect the legitimate authority of marriage and family as much as believers, and can share in those blessings.

When either fails to respect that authority and seeks to substitute a counterfeit authority for what God has provided, they will simply add cursing to their lot.

We don't need a political messiah. At best, he is only a speed bump on the road to perdition. He will never be good enough to save us from our own ultimate degeneracy and destruction.

What we need is a spiritual revival, specifically a Christian revival and a massive turning toward God. Then we will get our political revival as we regain the right road as a people. The one flows from the other. Doing it the other way around doesn't work. It never did and it never will.

Trump will only present a small chance of turning the ship around. Might slow the ship down a bit, but we are still heading for the iceberg. The problems mentioned in the article are real enough and mostly outside his scope. But what he could do is slow down the growth in government and the managerial bureaucracy. Another thing that needs to be done, but he probably won’t do, is stop the consolidation of power in the executive.

It has been so long since we had a decent leader, that folks forget what one good man with a head of steam can do.

Nancy Reagan adopted and ran with a program of, "Just say no to drugs." Lots of people laughed at it. It was a simple idea and folks just laughed it off.

Effects:

Nancy Reagan's related efforts increased public awareness of drug use, but a direct relationship between reduced drug use and the Just Say No campaign cannot be established, although the use and abuse of illegal recreational drugs significantly declined during the Reagan presidency.[12][13][14] According to research conducted by the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan, fewer young people in the 1980s were using illicit drugs.[12] High school seniors using cannabis dropped from 50.1% in 1978 to 36% in 1987,[12] to 12% in 1991[14] and the percentage of students using other drugs decreased similarly.[12] Psychedelic drug use dropped from 11% to 6%, cocaine from 12% to 10%, and heroin from 1% to 0.5%.[12] The campaign did draw some criticism. Nancy Reagan's approach to promoting drug awareness was labeled simplistic by critics who argued that the solution was reduced to a catch phrase.[15]

So I would submit that a good person in the right spot can open up remedies that most folks had never even considered.

Trump will wind up affecting things far beyond the scope of most people's thinking.

The Democrat voters are greedy and afraid.

You can come up with all the logical arguments in the world, and they won’t listen.

You have to cure them of being greedy and afraid

OR USE THOSE FEELINGS.

We don’t have enough psychiatrists and preachers to fix all the greedy and fearful Democrat voters.

We have to use their feelings.

“We have to use their feelings.”

The leftwing demagogues have been doing that forever.

Too long have those of us with faith waited for the next Great Awakening. Time for waiting is over. If our nation is to be saved it must be we who save her and we must do it now. Trump is not the answer but he will lead to to become the people we must become. For us or against us. Each must answer the call today.

Thanks for posting this piece. Precisely on target. It’s interesting to live in the final era of the Roman Empire. Frightening, but interesting. Makes you wonder what will follow.

Yes, and turnabout is fair play.

“Private sector jobs will reduce the amount of money that the government borrows.

Reducing the amount of money the government borrows will reduce the price of things.

Reducing the price of things means you will have more money to buy other things.

We need more private sector jobs and less welfare so the government doesn’t have to borrow so much money so the price of things will go down and people have more money to buy more things or better things.

You can vote Democrat and eat beans or vote Republican and eat prime rib.”

I put my trust in God, not in men. We live in a corrupt, violent, depraved world that I don’t even recognize any more. I will keep working in the vineyard until the Lord returns. Maranatha.
