Crashed on landing in bad weather at Rostov-On-Don
I hope that cooler heads prevail, and that nobody attempts to exploit this.
Per France 24 the Aircraft is A6-FDN, a 737-800. Was going Dubai to Rostov as FZ981.
Prayers for the passengers.

METAR at Rostov from about an hour ago. Cumulonimbus clouds, strong gusting winds, rain showers and low visibility.
I don’t like the implication of this. They say that a jet liner might have gone down (crashed).
Russia’s EMERCOM saying no survivors.
A nearby security cam captured the crash

The angle of approach was basically 60 degrees to the ground. 737-800. Must have been massive failure or, pilot error, or....
Wow - it looks like it came nearly straight down
60 degrees — “overshot the runway”
Does not compute.
Terrorism?
sounds like a stall
Here is the actual aircraft flight path from Dubai to Russia. You can zoom in and out on the flight path. The plane circled the destination airport for a while before the crash.

Must check the passenger list. Could have been one or more Putin opponents on board. Never know with that regime.
Agree - that did not look like it was landing. It was falling...
Possibly that or another political hit. Anything is possible with KGB/FSB types.
