In the coming days and with the decisions he makes, Cruz is going to prove one way or the other if he is part of the professional politician “establishment” class or not. It’s his choice ..... get co-opted/paid off by and/or collude with the GOPe to keep their crony, corrupt political pocket-lining structure in place that is enabling/assisting Obama/Dems/Progs/Libs to destroy America OR do what is in America’s best interests. I have my opinion on the matter thus far, but I’m willing to wait a short while longer and see which way he goes.
Not only a very strong senator now, but as VP would be the Head of the Senate. I wholeheartedly want a President Cruz, and I still pray that happens, but with that said, together Trump and Cruz would satisfy so many patriotic Americans. They, and We, can turn the country around. Cruz would be in a very good position to run as President again in 2020. We must mend fences and unite. FREEDOM!
There should be one more condition or stipulation should Cruz release his delegates to Trump for the VP spot.
Cruz gets to select ALL the upcoming Supreme Court vacancies during a Trump presidency.

True that...if Trump this really were Trump's game plan it's stupid. He's spending millions and millions of dollars to "help" Hillary get elected? They didn't need Trump's help. They've been pretty successful at getting either a Republican or Democrat candidate elected who always take the county in the direction they want!
I would let this play out. Seward had triple the number of delegates than Lincoln on the first ballot. 3-4 months before the convention is an eternity considering the news cycle, the number of primaries remaining and the fickleness of the American public.
So Ted doesn’t have a problem taking money from Soros. Kasich doesn’t either.
I do not expect Trump to fetter himself with a VP that he has not chosen for the job he wants them to do. I do not see the upside of taking Cruz on other than shortening the primary battle for Trump.
I guess I am saying that IMHO the chasm is too wide for Christian or Religious Right conservatives to bridge in order to make a Faustian deal with a completely secular pragmatist who has no history of representing the issues that we know God is VERY concerned with.
There is no chance for Cruz going forward. Kasich chipping away at the delegate count to insure a brokered convention. They will never give it to Trump or Cruz. So Trump and Cruz will have to be one step ahead. I would rather see them fight together than each other.

I agree with what you say entirely except for real concern about Cruz’s globalism and his fast talk on immigration. Frankly, globalism is so dangerous I have a difficult time understanding how a Christian can even think about supporting it. And Cruz was my first choice initially.
