The Stop Trump Movement Limps Forward

That unity ticket would preferably include Sen. Ted Cruz, who is second behind Trump in the delegate count, and a presidential contender who dropped out already. But the group did not discount including someone not in the race like Paul Ryan or Mitt Romney.
.
.
Still, the Club for Growth, has decided to continue on with its efforts to stop Trump. After an internal meeting Wednesday, the group decided to launch a $200,000 ad buy in Utah, which holds its primary Tuesday.
.
.
"Going forward, looking at the numbers, we think it's still very possible to keep Trump below 1,237, and it's equally possible for Ted Cruz to amass a large chunk of delegates, and that would likely lead to an open convention, which is, in some ways, analogous to a run-off," Doug Sachtleben, communications director for Club for Growth, told NBC News.

“........the group did not discount including someone not in the race like Paul Ryan or Mitt Romney.”..

If the bastards pull that trick, I will be at home reloading every cartridge I own and buy some more, the “revolution” we soon be starting and I want to be prepared.

Jmo, but I think they’re talking tough as a way of whistling past the graveyard. We’ve had consummate cowards in DC for quite some time. They thought they could babble about being conservative enough to cover their Obama-love. As that fiction explodes in their face, they are verbally throwing their weight around and telling the world how powerful they are.

Nevertheless, there will be a second consideration come convention time. Namely, the pols on the ballot in Nov. If they put Romney or Ryan on the ticket, look seriously for some other GOPers to get Cantorized.

And they know it. When the rubber meets the road, they’ll chicken out. They may put Cruz up in place of Trump (a miscalculation more than an act of courage). They will be too scared, though, to go with Ryan or Romney. Or so it seems to me.

Attention, Fellow Pennsylvanians.

Pat Toomey was a top executive of the Club for Growth.

When so many Inside the Beltway People dislike someone like Trump that usually means he is there for the Citizens of the USA.

Vote for Trump.

To Hell with the uni-party.

Too much of the abstract “we really really want to stop Trump” and too little of specific reasons why. To convince people, you give reasons.

Maybe Rush is correct: they simply fear losing their jobs.

Of course. They fear they’ll lose their relevancy and influence which translates to money to them in the end. They are all scum. They have absolutely no connection to drive-by America - none at all.

It is time to stop the Stop Trump movement. Trump has millions of Americans behind him. He is a Christian Nationalist, exactly what this country needs to make America great again.

At the juncture it would be very foolish and counter-productive for the GOP to continue its self-destructive behavior.

We have known that the GOPe is corrupt, self centered, and ineffective for years now. The GOPe desperately needs adult supervision to again become the GOP. Trump can do it alone, but NOW is the time for those currently serving in the Senate and House to step forward and support our next POTUS.

the way it will work is that Trump will continue to win and Cruz will continue to not win

At some point Trump will invite Cruz to have a little talk and offer him what ever he wants. Cruz will by then know he has lost and have decided what he wants to go forward and will work out the deal

Together, trump and Cruz possess the power. what remains is to decide how best to apply that power and move forward to control the convention and the party

It will be a win win deal. Cruz can not do that kind of deal with any others.

I really believe the GOP would rather lose the White House than allow a President Trump representing millions of Americans pissed off at DC and the GOP to gain power. They are far more willing to bide their time and accept the second-tier power that a President Hillary would deign to allow them so that she can complete the taking of all our remaining freedoms and resources. EVIL, EVIL people, the GOP - worse than Democrats, actually.
