Cruz should stick it out. Then he could make Trump *and* the GOP leadership a deal to have a “unity” convention. It shouldn’t be for VP, but to be the nominee for the SCOTUS. And the senate leadership would have to agree to confirmation beforehand, while preventing the Democrats from torpedoing his nomination.

And truthfully, he should also get to suggest the next two nominees for the court for Trump, as a thank you, because a conservative court would strongly help a Trump presidency. A divided or liberal court would block him at every opportunity.

This seems to be a win-win. It would make Trump’s presidency more effective, it would give Mitch McConnell a breather because Cruz would no longer be a senator, and it would balance the SCOTUS again.

Conservatives should be all in favor, because Cruz might be on the court for 30 years, and if another conservative was nominated and confirmed, it would make an entire branch of government conservative.

TIME TO DROP OUT?

NO WAY!! There's no reason to drop out. Cruz still has a shot at this, especially if he picks up pretty much all of the not-Trump delegates. And in any case, the more delegates he has, the more leverage he will have, as the only social and constitutional conservative in the race.

Cruz will do nothing unless it benefits Cruz. By now, anyone who doesn’t see Cruz is in this for Cruz, not the country, doesn’t want to see it. He’s as much a problem as the rest of the RNC.

I challenge the bad math here. Just like his last post, Unenlightened1 posts garbage from Jim Hoft which is demonstrably false, just like alleging that Cruz wants to kill all gays.

This material is unworthy of FR and the poster needs to be banned.

This is rubbish.

Its clear at this point Cruz is in this for Cruz... and no one else.... When this all started, I respected him and agreed with him on many things....

Now, I have no respect at all for him. Blaming Trump for Chicago, saying he’s inciting riots, etc etc etc.. Cruz is a self centered prick, who is going to do and say anything to further himself... his so called “principled conservatism” is garbage. No principled conservative blames victims when others show up with the intent to start trouble.

So long Cruz... At this point, I suspect even Texas may be embarrassed of their senator.

To get to 1237 Cruz needs 78% of the remaining delegates which he can do by winning 55% of the remaining vote to trump’s 45%. Trump’s ceiling as the theory goes is between 35 and 40%. He’s done well with cross over Dem votes while Cruz has him beat in caucus states 10 to 6. Cruz has also made inroads in the selection of the delegates themselves. This has been part of his ground game. If Trump doesn’t reach the magic 1237 number then the delegates are free to change their votes. This will be the moment where deals are made. Rules are the rules. And neither Rubio nor Kasich will ever throw their delegate support behind Trump although I have my doubts about Kasich...

Look at it this way...Trump has won 2/3rds of the states.

Kasich ....1/27th!

Cruz....he’s won 7 states. 1/4th.

Trump...2/3rds of the states...Cruz 1/4th.

Kasich needs to be told to get out! IF the RNC were worth spit, they’d tell him to go.
Ted needs to go back to Canada and stop screwing up this election.

It will go over 90% when Trump takes 58 in Az and at least 10 in Utah. Leave now for the good of the country and the conservative movement Ted. Man up.

It’s truely not happening for Ted, so unless he wants to sabotage for Hillary and the GOPe it would be best to suspend.

And for all of you people who were fooled into thinking Cruz was non-establishment, and an "outsider", in the face of a mountain of information proving otherwise..

Today, Senator Lindsey Graham announced his full-throated support for Senator Ted Cruz, to include giving Cruz access to Graham’s extensive donor and lobbying lists for financial support.

[…] Sen. Lindsey Graham will host a fundraiser on Monday in support of Sen. Ted Cruz.

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P16/

According to this, if someone other than Ted Cruz wins 130 delegates in upcoming contests Cruz is eliminated.

1,003 delegates remaining x .87 Cruz needs = 873

1,003 - 873 = 130

If some one other than Ted Cruz wins just 131 or so, Cruz can’t get there
