The new battle cry: Why can't the media 'stop' Trump?
FoxNews.com ^ | March 17, 2016 | Howard Kurtz

As Donald Trump’s detractors grow increasingly loud and desperate, they are aiming their ire at a new target:

The media.

Trump must be stopped, they declare, and it’s the media’s mission to halt him in his tracks.

. . . . .

At the heart of these accusations of media failure is the notion that if they were just more hostile, the dumb readers and viewers would see Donald Trump for the clear and present danger that has so unnerved his critics.

The media didn’t create him, so that can’t break him.

The question itself reveals how arrogant the media is. It presupposes that the media should have a role in “stopping” any political candidate. If there was a shred of journalistic integrity left in the entire media, no one would dream of even asking such a question.

Conservatives have been betrayed the the MSM for years... why would we ever listen to them?

Believe me, they already know this.

Why would they stop advertising the greatest entertainer since Michael Jackson?

Exactly!

He's probably helped them sell more soap than dancing with the stars and the Kardashians combined.

Oh, the Drama!

These people make me ill. They pretend that Trump’s millions of voters don’t exist. He won all the states that matte. Except for Ohio which Kasich is holding hostage.

Trump must be stopped, they declare, and it’s the media’s mission to halt him in his tracks.

And therein lies the problem with the "Fourth Estate".

Make no mistake. It's not citizens crying out the above. It's those within the MSM and government who are crying out with such nonsense.

Who elected the "media" to such a task as deciding who will and who will not be "allowed" to become the POTUS? Who decided it is to be the MSM's function to screen potential candidate?

The MSM is supposed to report and present facts for the public to use to make the decision on who should be the POTUS. That's not how it works in reality. In reality, the MSM uses its position to have its own favored candidates elected to office, be it the POTUS or any other. I don't think there was ever any intention for this reality to come to pass, and although the media has never been "pure" as far as honestly and evenly presenting unbiased "facts" for the public to peruse and make decisions, the last several decades have seen the MSM become an entity that no longer can be looked upon as being trustworthy or honest, but as a tool to be used by those who can manipulate it most effectively.

“Love the irony, the Lying Media can’t stop Trump because the Lying Media caused Donald Trump, while they suicided their credibility.”

Exactly right. The latest casualty is Fox News. They have completely destroyed the “fair and balanced” theme all by themselves.

Yep, and they don't learn. Poor Megyn is digging her grave deeper and deeper...her career is going to tank.

The MSM plan is working like a charm, you are just one example.

I don't think so. I still get information, but it's not from Fox News nor from my local newspaper like it used to be. If I don't like what Fox is doing, I'll watch someone else, and that's what I'm doing. The MSM wants to put their choice on the ballot by making us watch their editorializing. I'm just not going to play their game, so I don't think my behavior is what they want.

Look at it like a school of fish. An individual fish outside the school does not matter much in the scheme of things.

As you say, you may not be watch FNC, but you are still turning on the TV and watching “some” news channel.
