The former Subway hawker, who is serving a 16-year sentence at Colorado’s Englewood FCI, was tackled and punched in the face by a 60-year-old armed robber, TMZ reported.

Tricky Dick Nixon also got to be VPOTUS in that deal.

Blago's ultimate (quite temporary) appointment of the pathetic Roland Burris to the Senate seat did a LOT less damage to the USA than Eisenhower's (lifetime) appointment of Warren and choice of Nixon for VPOTUS.

I don't have much sympathy for pedophiles and rapists. But I do believe that crimes that are illegal outside prison walls should not be allowed inside, conducted by prisoners or guards. Prison life is brutal. We can say, oh that is too bad for Jared, but he deserves it. But one of the problems with allowing people to be brutalized in prison is that it doesn't just end with the child molesters. A lot of people end up in prison for doing stupid things. Not everyone in prison is truly guilty. There are people who can't afford decent lawyers. There are people there who represent a notch on some DA’s belt, not necessarily an honest conviction. There are plenty of examples of good evidence not being allowed in court. I don't believe that our court systems are totally corrupt, but they are without a doubt flawed. When someone is sent to prison, the punishment should not include being brutalized by other inmates or prison staff. That is unjust.

I always thought that prisons and everyone involved in the prison system would seem to have a vested interest in brutalizing people. I mean, why wouldn’t they absolutely want the recidivism rate to be as high as possible? It seems to me that is one way to get it, releasing broken folks. Do social workers want folks not to apply for social welfare programs? I don’t know, maybe that is just conspiracy crap.
