National Review…the Trump Recruiting Office
Americanthinker.com ^ | 3-16-2016 | Russ Vaughn

Perturbed by their failure to truncate the Trump campaign, National Review is now doubling down in a coming issue with a truly toxic article (behind a pay wall) by roving editor, Kevin D. Williamson.

Williamson apparently thinks blue-collar workers whose lives get turned upside down when their jobs disappear due to economic downturns or their manufacturing jobs getting shipped offshore or their mines closing due to new more restrictive government regulation, are all a bunch of worthless bums and crybabies who should just load up the pickup and become the new Okies.

I'd give up Mexican food for a year to see him stand on one of the dozens of idle drilling platforms and try to read that piece to a crowd of long-unemployed oilfield workers. Here are a few of Kevin's insulting words:

The truth about these dysfunctional, downscale communities is that they deserve to die. Economically, they are negative assets. Morally, they are indefensible. Forget all your cheap, theatrical Bruce Springsteen crap. Forget your sanctimony about struggling Rust Belt factory towns and your conspiracy theories about the wily Orientals stealing our jobs. The white American underclass is in thrall to a vicious, selfish culture whose main products are misery and used heroin needles. Donald Trump's speeches make them feel good. So does OxyContin. What they need isn't analgesics, literal or political. They need real opportunity, which means that they need real change, which means that they need U-Haul.

Did you folks out there in Odessa and all the other oil patch communities get that? This conservative elitist says your town deserves to die. And that's just a sample of the toxic rot in the lengthy article.

Trump has lifted the veil on the rot in the Republican party and the "Conservative" movement.

His impact on American politics is the most significant thing in decades.

Cruz supporters: You know it's true. Cruz hasn't done anything but spew silly rhetoric about the Constitution.

“RNC Chief Strategist, Sean Spicer said that he’s very sure the nominee will be one of the three still in the field.

Just goes to show what an awesome brain trust we have in the GOPe. “

These MOPES were never smart, they just had billionaires feeding them.

Didn’t Hillary just say that Coal Miners will lose their Jobs when she shuts down the Evil Coal Mines?

Why isn’t that a Headline at NR?

I think it’s dawning on the GOPe that without the base, they’re nothing...

“I think it’s dawning on the GOPe that without the base, they’re nothing...”

No no no no......

The GOPe doesn’t WANT to win. Out of power, they can financially rape, rob and steal, and blame it on the Democrat POTUS.They can also eventually get amnesty and TPP with a Dem POTUS, and once again, blame both on the Dem POTUS. Why do you think they ran Jeb? Even if he somehow got the nomination, Hillary would CREMATE him.

CHrissy Matthews was event alking last night if Hillary chose Kasich it’s over.

Kasich would help Hillary about as much as Joe Lieberman helped Gore.

To be fair no running mate can wash away the evil of the beast.

They ran Jeb because they thought he could win the nomination. Therefore they had a much higher opinion of him than you do today, and at the time they had data to justify that belief. They needed to look no further than Jeb's own brother in 2004 to find evidence that a moderate establishment candidate could win two terms, though admittedly that first term was a squeaker.

It's only hindsight that makes it seem like they chose a sure loser to blow $130 million on. But if they wanted a sure loser why not stand aside and let Ted Cruz take the nomination? Or, by their own reasoning, allow guaranteed loser Donald Trump to take the fall?

The solution to this puzzle is they thought Jeb was good enough to block Trump and Cruz, the guys they don't want.

Williamson succinctly expressed the exact way the GOPE see their voters and fly over country. There is no difference in Williamson and the GOPE’s view than that of the democrats. Only the democrats are not stupid enough to insult the people they are hoping will vote for their gift wrapped turd sandwich.

Williamson and the elites are a special kind of stupid, wrapped in arrogance and contempt, may God have mercy on them because of a revolution ever happens that whole group would be the first group to be tarred and feathered if they are lucky.

***

Correction: Spew silly rhetoric and then prove that he doesn’t believe it when he thinks he can score a political cheap shot.

You know what? The GOPe stinks at logistics, all they are good at really is circular firing squads and graft, I’m convinced.

When Trump said that there would be rioting in the streets if they try to steal the nomination, I think that’s mistaken. We don’t want to get arrested, none of us have a job waiting in that eventuality.

Thing is that since the GOPe stinks at logistics, well that is a thing that could be messed with in perfectly legal (and at worst somewhat untraceable) ways. They need to be blockaded, their supply line needs to be cut, their communications need to be disrupted, and in general that convention needs for the base to declare war, but in a smart way. In relatively legal ways. They say they know better than us, are fit to inflict their will on us, well then...
