Title says it all. Will there be a recount?
Yes! I was convinced that Trump would get swindled out of this.
Maine & Kansas had Cruz winning.
I think he meant more than 50% of voters voted against Cruz. More than 50% voted against Trump as well though...
Might be true, but it doesn’t help bridge the gap when you are repeatedly flamed just because you aren’t willing to fall on a sword for someone.
Your #28, funny. Great post.
There really is a geographic aspect to the Cruz support. He is a Great Plains/northern mountain state candidate. Missouri is one border, likely Arizona is another. Those are highly competitive states, but they mark the boundaries. He lost the entire south east of Texas. He got the Maine caucus - an outlier I think because he is not strong anywhere else in the northeast or the rust belt. He is not positioned well for the west coast or the southwest either, outside of perhaps New Mexico. This is a pretty good position for a VP candidate as he has a definite geography. That’s not a good geography for someone to win a general election however.
Nice way to spin it. Explain Florida and Illinois?
Glad to have you celebrating the Big Win tonight Mr Apple.
After the absolute pummeling trumps been taking from dems AND repubs is it really surprising that his lead has been shrinking. Bending but not breaking. I actually find it unbelievable. I don’t think any other candidate could withstand what trumps been dealing with.
What does it matter when you have a second runner-up candidate who does not even placed 2nd in many states. Cruz got whipped tonight and didn’t even get 20% in a state that is a microcosm of America.... Florida.
Trump outperformed Hillary tonight. In key states. I don’t know why you think we care about inaccurate polling, the votes were cast tonight and Trump won. Ted was swept.
Does anyone know which primaries are next?
“Supposed to” and “expected to” don’t actually mean anything.
Election results are the only thing that matters.
It looks like 42-10 Trump.
If Cruz wins in a recount it would probably be 30-22 Trump.
Well, I think we can say that tonight, Ted Cruz didn't find any Bogle for his Glotch.
if Hillary had been the runner-up, she would have stolen this election away from Trump by now
Agreed, The attacks have been withering, and loaded with bias and overt unfairness.
There's no way any other GOP candidate could have weathered it.
And despite all the GOPe/Lamestream Media/Leftist efforts, and the fact that Ted Cruz is helping the Trump-haters by acting and talking like a totally typical opportunist politician instead of being a statesman, Trump is still winning.
FL, NC, IL, MO. Everything but Kasich's home state, of which he's the sitting governor.
Pretty impressive, even if MO were to slip out of his hands.
At this point, Ted Cruz supporters should be acknowledging the fact that what he said on Friday night clearly hurt him, especially in Illinios...
Apparently, you put a lot of stock into polls. Not a wise thing to do. Also, there is point shaving going on, but, I don’t expect you to understand fraud that exists from the corrupt politicians.
I noticed early on Trump usually underperformed his polls and I went from Cruz to Trump back early autumn
I think Trump polls well because he’s popular for his spunk and candor and he’s been well known a long time
Folks know him and answer pollsters....yeah that Trump guy
But in a primary those folks that are popularity voters just aren’t as motivated
But they might be in November
However they are motivated enough to give him 20 wins to 8 for Cruz
The GOP had seen record primary turnout mostly for Trump anyhow but also for Cruz which makes losing that much harder for Cruz folks who know without Trump around they’d be at 600 delegates
It’s quite a year
I’ve soured on Cruz and now see him as being willing to be used to a degree to kill Trump as evidenced by his Friday nite comments
But he’s young....he has plenty more chances
Trump you’ve only got to worry about him once or twice
