Is anybody at CNN even a bit familiar with American history? I have to ask that because right at the start of episode 2 last night of their Race for the White House series, they made a glaring error in a map they presented. As the map was rolled out, narrator Kevin Spacey made clear it reflected the situation of the United States in the year 1858. One huge problem. The country was divided into free states of the north and slave states of the south as well as the new territories to the west. One very prominent state was incorrectly placed in the free states of the north...Missouri. Most definitely a slave state as anybody familiar with the Missouri Compromise of 1820 knows which allowed that state to enter the union as a slave state with its southern boundary of 36°30′ to mark the dividing line between free and slave in the western territories.

Probably because MO was a Union state.
Facts are what liberals choose to be facts.
Biden had some trouble in this regard, didn’t he?
it was definitely not a free state.
The distortion and lies about our history is so prevalent and pervasive in OUR schools!! They are OUR SCHOOLS (NOT THEIR SCHOOLS) for OUR children NOT THEIR CHILDREN. We want them taught about OUR sacrifices in the Civil war ( BOTH SIDES AND THE REAL REASON FOR THE WAR), WWI, WWII, KOREA, VIETNAM, ETC. WE WANT COMMUNIST CORE ( a/k/a “Common” core) Crushed into oblivion. We want the lies to STOP!!
That pubic skrewel education is showing.
MO was a border state but BEFORE the Civil War in 1858, Missouri was a slave state considered South. Also note that Maryland and Delaware which remained in the Union were also included in the South on that map because they were also slave states.
It was a border state and I bet Jessie James, Bloody Bill and co would have a problem with you saying that.
More evidence the actual history of the United States hasn't been taught in American schools in a long time . . .
Jackson was the Confederate governor of Missouri during the war, and Missouri had representatives seated in the Confederate congress.
The state was occupied by Unionist forces for much of the war, which put in place a puppet government.
Anyone who read “Tom Sawyer” or “Huckleberry Finn” would have known that!
Oh, wait...
Seems like there’s always new things popping up in old history. A German officer captured at Normandy while the invasion was going on got a look down one of the American-assigned beaches covered in tanks, artillery, and transports was bewildered. “Where,” he asked, “are all the horses?”
Such was the state of the German army in occupied France.
American history takes a back seat, if it’s even on the bus, to common core, tranny bathrooms and a whole host of other nonsense. Mao it’s no wonder the children over at CNN don’t get it.
Why is anyone surprised by this?
What I said is indisputably true.
