North Korea has lost contact with one of its submarines, U.S. officials tell CNN. The submarine, apparently on some sort of exercise earlier this week, was being tracked by the U.S. military when it suddenly stopped. The fate of the sub is unknown, but U.S. forces have observed North Korea's attempts to find the missing craft.
U.S. officials believe the submarine experienced some sort of failure, and the U.S. military has been monitoring the subsequent search and rescue mission via spy satellites, aircraft, and ships. The incident is taking place at a time of particular high tension in the area, with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un having recently stressed the importance of preparation for a pre-emptive nuclear strike. It's A move that came after North Korea's test-launch of several missiles, and just before Kim Jong Un was photographed posing with what North Korea claims are miniaturized nuclear warheads

I love that movie .. have it on DVD - watch it a couple times a year. It’s the only movie I ever saw with Sean Connery in it.
I like remembering him as a Ship’s Captain .. instead of a womanizer.
My modern sub knowledge comes from Crimson Tide and Red October. So I have no idea what our anti sub tech is like. I am sure it could hear them from miles away. I wonder if they had gotten into position near one of ours, and opened their outer doors we would have taken care of them.
I don’t know what I am talking about. But I think everyone (China, Russia, Japan, and the US) is sick of the NORKs.
It is difficult to rule the world if these twerps get in the way.
What are the chances that North Korea has smarts enough to be able to mask their ship’s movements ..??
Or, what is the possibility NK is just running silent on purpose .. and could we still know where they are but we are not going to tell anybody that we know ..??

I guess that means that I believe we are a whole lot smarter than NK.
