Supporters of Sens. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) took to social media to slam the freshman senators for blaming leftists shutting down a Trump Chicago rally on GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.
I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment, when the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence to punch people in the face. The predictable consequence of that is that it escalates and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We earlier today in St. Louis over thirty arrested. Thats not how our politics should occur, Cruz said Friday. You know, the City of Chicago in 1968 saw some ugly days when politics descended into hatred and incivility and even violence and it is my hope that in 2016 that we can appeal to our better angels and avoid going down that road once again.
Cruz supporters, incensed by the Texas senators blame game, stormed social media to express their anger. Top comments on a Friday Facebook post promoting a Cruz victory fund drew furious responses.

I can’t even stand looking at Cruz.
Brietbart. Meh..... progressives
So you won’t vote for him if he gets the nomination?
How?
What source are you quoting that says he lost 300,000 facebook friends?
Liar.
Here is a quote of yours from February...
“there will be NO President Cruz! Theres a better chance of spotting a unicorn on the freeway!”
So you never did support Cruz. Stop acting like you’re all butthurt over anything he did this weekend.
Liar.

Oh wait.
At first, Trumpsters said he said NOTHING.
Now that y’all have been proven to be liars, you’re crying well he only said 2 sentences.
It’s not his job to run behind Trump cleaning up his mess.
You won’t get a coherent response...if you even get one at all.
They get stunned when they are cornered with facts.
I don't know what you think a real Cruz supporter is, but I made several donations to his campaign over the last several months and, until Friday, intended to vote for him in the primary.
I too have had issues with Trump's rhetoric from time to time. But Friday was a day to send a single message of condemnation of the left's attempt to silence the right. Cruz did not see that and could not resist piling on.
In my view, he failed the test of leadership during a very critical and difficult time. And, with some regret, it cost him at least one vote.
Stop lying about what we said.
I ALWAYS said that he gave the pathetic ‘yeah but’ bullshit, and I saw NO other person who said that he never gave two sentences.
You just can’t handle the fact that your pathetic candidate played you for a sucker.
You go to a political rally. Plan on having some fun. Get to hear someone speak in person. And YOU get assaulted, ASSAULTED by a bunch of thugs. People were bleeding. People lost value out of their property. People were TERRIFIED because of these thugs. Your KIDS were terrified and put in danger from this feral mob.
And then tune in the next day and hear the person who you thought was a rival but who you assumed was ultimately a good guy telling you, “Oh sure, the protesters were bad people. BUT if your guy wasn’t such a bad person, it never would have happened!”
Oh, and then on Monday, Ted doubled down on that comment.
And YOU tell me that it’s not justified to feel angry, not just at the person who said it, but at all the jackasses who are defending what he said. And you’re ALSO trying to put the blame on ME with your contemptuous and bitchy nitpicking.
You and your little cultist band are absolutely full of shit.
Go and fornicate yourself.
A “friggin” men! You nailed it!
I've seen it reported numerous times, starting on Friday night. I didn't realize the assertion was controversial. Maybe it's just a rumor.
Well, I checked and he’s down to 950ish k Twitter followers, down from 1200 k. I think.
My bad. I misspoke. It's not Facebook friends, it's Twitter followers. I'm not sure what the Facebook losses are, but Ted Cruz lost about 300,000 Twitter followers over the weekend as a result of his shameful naked opportunism:
That's about a 25% loss of Twitter followers in one fell swoop.
No matter how you want to spin it, that's significant.
Lol that was all the fake Trumpster profiles
You are mistaken. I never
posted the statement you are attributing to me:”there will be NO President Cruz! Theres a better chance of spotting a unicorn on the freeway!”
Is this like when y’all conveniently leave out what Cruz said this weekend? Oh but when it’s done to you, it’s not so cool huh?
of course. But let’s not forget that whiney little baby Andrew Alemao threw an object (tomato) at Trump -——before—— Trump said that.
How is anyone to know whether someone who’s already thrown one object, won’t throw something more dangerous on the second toss? It was a crowd-panic moment, and Trump said exactly the right thing to reassure the crowd that they were ok.
He made a weaselly, lawyer-esque statement which rebuked the organized thugs only in passing.
He showed a total lack of leadership, and exposed himself as an unprincipled opportunist.
Dozens of his (former) supporters on this very forum disavowed his weak statement, and many switched over to Trump.
And that pattern was repeated all over the internet.
Trump supporters didn't convince Ted Cruz supporters to reconsider their support for Cruz: Ted Cruz's did it all by hiumself. His wounds over the weekend were self-inflicted.
All 3 of the GOP trailing candidates showed raw political opportunism instead of statesmanship, in the face of organized lawlessness on the part of Left-wing mobs.
Collectively, all 3 were utterly shameful.
So congratulations, Ted and the other 2 stooges, for advancing Establishment/Mass Media propaganda, and for serving as apologists for the behavior of criminal thugs who conspired to infringe on the Peoples' Right to Peaceable Assembly...
