Voters Slam Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio for Blaming Chicago Rally Shutdown on Donald Trump
Breitbart ^ | March 13, 2016 | Katie McHugh

Posted on 03/13/2016 3:09:35 PM PDT by Innovative

Supporters of Sens. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) took to social media to slam the freshman senators for blaming leftists shutting down a Trump Chicago rally on GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.

“I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment, when the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence — to punch people in the face. The predictable consequence of that is that it escalates and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We earlier today in St. Louis over thirty arrested. That’s not how our politics should occur,” Cruz said Friday. “You know, the City of Chicago in 1968 saw some ugly days when politics descended into hatred and incivility and even violence and it is my hope that in 2016 that we can appeal to our better angels and avoid going down that road once again.”

Cruz supporters, incensed by the Texas senator’s blame game, stormed social media to express their anger. Top comments on a Friday Facebook post promoting a Cruz “victory fund” drew furious responses.

I just watched the movie “Our Brand Is Crisis” and it does a pretty decent job of showing the inner workings of a campaign and the political strategists, and how they run the campaign - telling lies or rumors or twist things, to slander their opponent. One of the scenes shows the campaign advisor Jane starts a rumor that the opponent is a Nazi, based on no real facts, but a fuzzy picture showing him with Nazi propaganda. She explains it’s not relevant whether it’s true. She just needs to hear him deny it.

Pretty interesting movie...and art imitating life, considering what we are going through with this election, IMO.

Yeh, they are giving Cruz so much flack over this, when they let Trump skate when he said worse about Pamela Gellar and the Muhammed event.

On May 4,2015, Trump tweeted: “The U.S. has enough problems without publicity seekers going out and openly mocking religion in order to provoke attacks and death. BE SMART.”

“It looks like she’s just taunting everybody. What is she doing?” he told Fox & Friends. “Drawing Mohammed and it looks like she’s actually taunting people. You know, I’m one that believes in free speech, probably more than she does. But what’s the purpose of this?”

All over a stupid cartoon. Yet, he can tell his supporters to knock out the protesters that get in their way and he’s given a pass, excused and even defended.

He has the right to say it, but if you’re going to, at least have the decency to hold others to that same standard.

Ok, so Trump didn't say punch them, but "knock the crap out of them" is saying the same thing. Literally.

Yes, Trump did say that.

Of course, the context of Trump's statement, which you so conveniently omitted, was that he made that suggestion only for the case of a "protester" initiating an assault by throwing a missile at rally attendees or Mr. Trump himself.

Context is everything, so even if Donald Trump was "out of line" in making that statement, he certainly wasn't advocating the use of force against anyone who was being peaceable.

So color me unimpressed.

The salient point is that those who try to smear Donald Trump with such false accusations are being hysterical, and participating in the same reckless exaggeration that typifies the Establishment, the Left, and their mainstream media cohorts...

I find Mr. Trump’s “mentality” and his “tone” refreshing.
I LOVE it. It’s exactly what this country needs, to draw out the treasonous traitor Commies who have sold out America.

I also understand that you see it differently.

Did they omit the context of his comment with a straight face? No?

Btw, what kind of a nutbar would go to high charged political rally and throw tomatoes, rocks, apples or whatever at those attending? Only a lumberhead bent on violence would pull that sh*t.

LOL, Load up those TOMATO missiles.

Did you type that with a straight face?

I certainly did.

There's no telling what missile could be thrown, and even if it was only a tomato, how is anybody going to know that? Furthermore, just like a snowball, such a missile could be "enhanced" or contaminated with any of a long list of biological or chemical materials, or even, say, a rock.

So your hopeful presumption that such a missile would automatically be benign is both naive and reckless.

While you may think that throwing something at a Presidential candidate is not a matter for concern, I can assure you that plenty of reasonable people don't share your flippancy.

Whether you like it or not, throwing a missile at someone constitutes an assault, and whether you like it or not, Trump's comment was directed towards someone who would have been in the act of launching such an assault, and, thus, Trump categorically was not advocating attacking any peaceable individual.

Once again, Trump-haters' wet dreams regarding his use of "violent rhetoric" against peaceful folks continue to be rather unsatisfying, inasmuch as they are totally unreal.

So keep parroting your hysterical Establishment/mass media propaganda; meanwhile, intellectually honest folk will evaluate such intentional distortions in their factual context...

So if you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously, OK, just knock the hell. I promise you I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise.

Let’s take number 1.

1.Cruz voted for the Corker bill. The corker bill is why now Iran is developing nuclear weapons. You tell me why that is conservative or why that helps America ok.that’s your canadian’s doing, getting Americans who he duped nuked ok . and I have a thousand links that prove all this and this is going to Trump and to sites all over ok, got that ?

So it’s ok to bash Cruz, but not the Hildabeast or the socialist? What is fair for 1 is fair for all of the candidates. There is NO place for violence in elections, it makes us look like a third world country. Just go vote and keep your opinions to yourself.

“There is NO place for violence in elections, it makes us look like a third world country. Just go vote and keep your opinions to yourself.”

All deserve criticism.

Violence by disrupters is not to be tolerated. They choose to go and try to usurp the constitutional rights of those peacefully assembled.

In case you are unaware, whether Fergusen, MO or elsewhere, a radical left has arisen, funded by evil and happy with violence. Do I care what others think or do I care about my country? Certainly the latter.

That you want to suppress the free speech rights of others says you prefer the radical left, as long as you look good. That’s on you.
